Daily Endorsement

there’s no way to stop the abuse of endorsements. players are gonna endorse just endorse to boost rankings and get a huge monthly reward.
my opinion is its a failed system. its not being used as its attended to be

I do believe the system worked well in the past and obviously some people are abusing the system now. As times change, perhaps systems should be adjusted also. I posted a thread a year or 2 ago regarding this.

Design a system that relates specifically to replay poker (not poker in general) Ex:)

There may be some here that are Poker pros but a small percentage of total Replay members, etc

honestly, I don’t think players use it or care for it anymore. only reason players care for it is because of the free chips. when it was rolled out, you would get ton of them, now its very rare I get one. people just want to play poker. which is what it should be without any gimmicks

First we have to pay (higher) rake (Ring players only) for this pay outs, then we have to “play” it back. Missions, Marathons, Freerolls, free tickets, Promos, … are all the same. Replay want to have the players at the tables.
Replay can not give out more and more chips because inflation. Someone has to pay for the free chips.

Perhaps the resolution is to add a switch to game settings to turn off endorsements, for those who don’t want anymore.

some of us have mentioned adding a option out in settings. again, these endorsements just feel so kindergarten to me

I agree to a point except for this. Any system that is so blatantly abuseable is flawed design. That is the fail.

It’s this old argument seen all throughout history.

A: We are going to implement THIS.

B: If we implement THIS, it will get exploited to do THAT.

A: It’s not intended to do THAT so no one will do THAT.

THIS gets implemented and it gets exploited up the yin yang by everyone using it for THAT.

A: We will give mankind nuclear technology to power entire cities.

B: Nice idea, but wait a sec, if we give the world nuclear tech, then people will make bombs with it that could blow up the entire planet.

A: No, no one will make bombs because nuclear tech is not intended for bombs.

We get nuclear tech and everyone makes bombs.

When you introduce something, you have to think this through. Especially in gaming, as the whole point if the game is to find an edge to get ahead. You can’t provide that edge and then just say “everyone be honest and don’t use this edge.” That is a design flaw. That is a fail.

Much more than a few. I sat down this afternoon for BtS and instantly got endorsed without any talk or ‘hi’ or ‘gl’. For what? Nothing. A few hands later, table broke and the moment that I sat down was instantly endorsed. For what? Nothing. People are endorsing just for the sake of endorsing. The percentages on our profiles are absolutely meaningless, so the system as INTENDED is (sadly) useless. It’s just an super awesome big fat exploit. I’m not trying to be rude about it, just telling it as accurately as possible, and I’m sorry to say.

This too. If Replay is going to give out so many free chips it should be for playing poker (promos, freerolls, missions, etc), not just for clicking things. Otherwise the rakes will have to rise or theoretically no one will play 2.5k anymore. It won’t be worth it due to all the free chip padding. At some point 100k buy-in won’t be high stakes anymore.

They should implement a system where it costs chips to endorse another player. You’d then know that the “Helping Hand” endorsement you just received was a heartfelt troll

Just get rid of the helping hand endorsement for starters…It is not used for what it was intended for..

That would be a player problem, not a site problem. Most of us understand what the true meaning of the helping hand endorsement is intended to be. A few use it for other purposes, so be it I will take them.

No, it’s a site problem. It’s a feature flaw. When you add a feature to a game, you must take into account the possible exploits. Whoever came up with endorsements did not do this. When I read about endorsements when I joined, the first thing that I thought was, “gee, isn’t that heavily exploitable? Money for clicking on people’s names? How do they handle that?” I quickly found out that … they don’t. It’s not accounetd for. They just let people exploit it.

Site problem. 100%.

Not trying to crap on anyone’s parade here. Just the obvious truth.

Thank you! You just proved my point. All the best.

Having the ability to share everyone’s opinion, is one of the great things about the Replay Forum.

@pgambill , I hope your original question was answered for you. Have fun, keep helping others & gl at the tables !!

How so?

just ftr its not x times 25 chips, i rarely endorse and only get endorsed a relative small amount

but still receive a min. 40k “endorsement award” each month

I agree that the endorsement system as it is currently implemented is open to and is frequently exploited and/or abused.

I know folks who endorse their friends daily, and then there are those who use the helping hand endorsement to troll, but, for me,… so what???

I mean, really, who is it being hurt?

Yes, the system is not being used as intended by some, but it is still a nice feeling to get a the occasional pro or good sport from some random player in a game.

Bottom line for me is whether we keep it or remove it makes no difference to me. I just like to play poker.

i think thats a mistake i know of no one that gets 40k for making endorsements. And you are allowed so many endorsements in one dau and can’t endorse one person more than one time.

to really answer your question. maybe there’s a delay in notification that you got one. or player just simply replayed a hand that you were on and decided to endorse you. it had happen to me. I would play but got no endorsement. hours later I would get a notification that I was endorsed. so who knows what’s going on

when you endorse someone you get a whopping 25 chips. you are allowed endorse 20 people in a 24 hour period. after 24 hours, you can endorse 20 players even if you already endorse that person

Yes you do receive a monthly endorsement drop on the 15th of every month. The amount is based on amount of participation & your rank number & 1-5 with 5 the highest and more chips received. A Rank 5 receives about 65K monthly.
