I don't understand endorsements

What is the use of endorsements? Like, I understand what the awards are for. But what do they actually give you or what do they actually do?

What are Endorsements?

Say hello to our newest community feature: Endorsements! Our Endorsement system is a way for you to feel empowered by rewarding good play and behavior. You’ll have a direct impact on our community, encouraging others to keep our tables welcoming and friendly.

There are three different endorsements that you can provide to other players:

  1. “Poker Pro” - Is the player in question great at the game? Select this button to give them a shout-out.
  2. “Good Sport” - Are you having a friendly chat with someone? Do they have a great attitude, take their losses in stride, or make you feel welcome? This is the endorsement for them!
  3. “Helping Hand” - If you’ve got questions about the site or the game, and someone helped you along the way, choose this option to say thanks.

Each of these awards will contribute to a player’s endorsement rank, on a scale of 0-5.

As thanks for being a positive presence on our site, we’re doing monthly chip drops based on your rank. Each rank has a set range, and you’ll be awarded a random amount from that range. The higher your rank, the more chips you’ll receive.

We also award you with 25 chips each time you make an endorsement, because we appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge other great players!

The Endorsements feature places the power in our community’s hands. You encourage the behavior you want to see, while Code of Conduct violations result in a loss of perks and recognition.

Let’s promote good behavior together!

New Feature: Endorsements

The official site literature is pretty meaningless. You do get chips for sending endorsements, but the amount is too small to make an appreciable impact for any but the absolute least wealthy Replayers. Here is a more realistic answer:

You can send three endorsements (though only one per player per 24 hours): Poker Pro, Good Sport, and Helping Hand.

Poker Pro and Good Sport are typically used in earnest - if someone sends you one of these endorsements, they probably think you’re actually a strong player or a good sport.

Helping Hand is typically used ironically - people send it as a way of making fun when you lose a big hand.

Outside of this low stakes communication, Endorsements don’t really “do” anything.

Thanks for all the explanations

That was an easy one to answer.

How about this…

I don’t understand women.

A few times I’ve been on final table and the other player is a good sport and I’ve had a good time playing with them. But when the game ends, I can no longer do an endorsement. Can this be changed somehow, or am I doing something wrong?

replay any hand that player was at table with you. you can endorse them that way

Ok, cool. Thanks for that.
Can you replay hands from tournaments?

yes.
click on your profile pic. drop down box
6 option down says hands. click on that. that’ll bring up latest hands you played

I use the poker pro one to say hello to my pals without getting off my fat ass to type, I also use it to commend fine play, don’t use it for anything else, never use the others, I’ve always thought they were a bit ambiguous.
