Still got it

ngl I was completely owning DARLINGGIRL in this brief HU session
she played back at me when I opened with suited gappers and I just felt she was having a go, so I tripled off, got the fold on the river

showed the bluff
she tilted hard for the rest of the session, opening 5x-6x, I just folded a bunch lol

HU NLHE still the best game there is!

By “still got it”, do you mean still being able to brag about about a win and demean a player by telling the community she fell for a bluff and titled hard?

DARLING and I have competed against each other a lot. I certainly don’t intend to demean them—if anything, I find it noteworthy that I managed to outplay them for once, because they’re such a strong opponent.

Sorry, Youngura, but your original post states you ‘own’ a player and were able to read the player to the point you can have the player fold to a bluff, state that the player ‘tilted for the rest of the session’ is bragging about your skill, and demeaning for a player.

If you had stated what you said in your response to me in the original post then my comment would have been unnecessary.

That’s funny, because I remember a thread where you were suggesting all the high stakes regulars (including DG), were unskilled bingo players, and Younguru was defending them.

Its all they do friend. They attack people that disagree with them or the fact that online poker is more ruse than gaming. I made the mistake of posting bragging rights and win scalps. They’ve been attacking ever since. Everything from posting obnoxious childish graphics to provoking bad chat then ratting to their friendly admins. It’s like irc.chat from the jurassic period of trolls. The algorithm is silly too. Ho hum…

So, lihiue, aside from deflection, perhaps you tell us how your inaccurate inference re bingo players on another thread has anything to do with this discussion.

Now if we can get back to the topic—do you think the first post in which Younguru—states he ‘owned’ a player, saying the player fell for a bluff, and embarrassing a player by telling the community the player ‘tilted hard for the rest of the session’, is an exercise in bragging and demeaning a player?

Good to know we’re friends, LiteBrite, and that I won’t have to go to the trouble of summoning all my admin friends (although inhiue is asking for it  )

ps. just in case … any links for those ‘obnoxious childish graphics’

I just found it amusing. I don’t have a problem with your posts on the other thread, but to me they read much harsher than what Younguru posted. Same can be said for everything you’ve posted in this thread.
I could not care less if someone is bragging or not, but I wouldn’t fault you for having a problem with it either.

Lilhiue, you stated that I ‘suggested all the high stakes regulars were unskilled bingo players’.
Emm… any chance of a direct quote to verify that I said ‘ALL’ high stake regulars were unskilled bingo players?

And, while you’ve expressed your opinion that you couldn’t care less if someone is bragging or not, you tap danced around the question as to whether or not Younguru was bragging, and demeaning another player.

Did Younguru’s first post, in your opinion, brag, and demean a fellow player?

Do you not consider such a game by top players nothing more than a bingo game and, as such, an example of going ‘backward’ relative to skilful poker playing?

I don’t think Younguru’s initial post is demeaning. If you do, I think you’re right to call it out, but they way you’re going about it makes it seem like you’re just bitter that other people might be better at poker than you are.

The “Bragging rights here” post under Discussion category reveals a pattern. Self appointed trolls projecting. Silliness mostly. I was simply posting my wins. Bragging is half the fun for me. Especially since there really are no fun gaming i centives here at all. “they” began posting angst. Then turning it around on me because they get the taste smacked out of their mouths.A little narcissistic freak show ensues.

Keeping in mind that Replay is for entertainment purposes only will ease any conflicts.

In that light, friendly competition and banter thrives.

Having to beat number one, to be number one is what’s happening here.

Having a bit of success at the highest level and posting it here is tempting.

A better way is to use your profile space.

I remember Goatsoup’s profile page was a mile long.

I don’t see it as bragging coming from a profile page, more as a place for remembrance.

" Completely owning DARLINGGIRL in this brief HU session. "

^ That statement makes absolutely no sense when you think about it.

Younguru has a long history of being Younguru.

Front and center (when he decides to show up)

The John McEnroe of poker.

The highest level of competition flows through his blood.

From your level, you may see it as demeaning a player.

From their level, it’s just another moment in battle.

A battle on Replay which is, in this case, the pinnacle of competitive entertainment

one can experience.

Why not post and share it here?

The title should have been, “The Elites Playground”

Be aware when making a comment or casually strolling/trolling through it!

This post is for entertainment purposes only!

Lilihue, the quote you provided is not verification that I consider ALL top players to be bingo players.
Consequently, such accusation is nothing short of a fairytale.

Considering the multitude of skillful and professional poker players, your assertion that I am bitter because other people are better than me at poker is also an imaginary fairytale—one beyond absurdity.

It would seem that you don’t consider applauding yourself for ‘owning’ a player as bragging, and that announcing to the community that another player ‘tilted hard for the rest of the session’ is not embarrassing or demeaning for that player.
This demonstrates a standard at odds with basic respect for others.

Does it matter if it’s all, or just some? Isn’t it a double standard that you can call out anyone as a bingo player but get mad at someone for saying an opponent was tilting? That just struck me as rather ironic.

Excaliburns, you believe Younguru’s ‘owning of Darlinggirl’ makes no sense. Do you also see it as bragging?

Friendly competition and banter are fine, but there’s a line between that and inflated egotism and disrespect. When the line is crossed, calling it out is essential for maintaining a respectful site.

If John McEnroe had grown up playing tennis in Glasgow, he would never have become a professional player—his head would have been kicked in so many times that he’d be unable to play.

In battle, there is honour and dishonour.

High levels of competitiveness do not excuse disrespectful behavior and rudeness. Federer achieved 20 major titles while playing respectfully, compared to McEnroe’s 7 titles earned through continuous rude and disrespectful conduct toward opponents, umpires, and linesmen.

It matters how we play the game. It’s not a matter of my perspective or Younguru’s—it’s a matter of having respect in both winning and losing—that’s why they call it sportsmanship.

And btw, relative to the current state of society and world politics, mutual respect has never been more essential.

Yes, it matters.

Bingo players aside, bingo playing is regarded by most players on the site as a one of the biggest, if not the biggest frustration—something they feel the site would be better off without.

Usually bingo is associated with freeroles and lower stake games. Exposing that it is also present in high stakes game is a pertinent consideration for improvement of the site.

In the same way that exposing disrespect re other players is intended to improve the site—making Replay a good experience for everyone…

Fair enough, but if you want to make it a good experience for everyone, then you also need to use some tact when exposing disrespect, and also to give people some benefit of the doubt regarding their intentions.
It’s fine if you want to snipe at people too, but it detracts from your claims of just trying to make the experience better. Sometimes it is more fun though

First, I have great respect for Younguru’s accomplishments at the poker table.

Reaching 1 billion quicker than most ever did, instantly elevated his status to legendary.

His Nordic Warrior record for NLO H/L 221,661 Best 9 will stand forever.

I believe Younguru, in his egoic mind, wants to completely own DARLINGGIRL.

From her perspective however, the brief encounter was just a blip on her long journey.

Basically, it meant nothing at all.

Her rating remained at #1 after encountering Younguru.

Ego finds something to hold onto and point to…

Call it what you want!

Was he bragging?

I’ll call it youthful exuberance.

DARLINGGIRL is like a huge Iceberg in the Atlantic.

Younguru set sail for a collision.

The #105 rated Younguru steamed right towards the #1 rated DARLINGGIRL.

Past collisions resulted in ice upon the deck.

Obviously, it created cold decks for Younguru.

All right. Shut this noise down right now. Younguru has helped many new players on this forum, reviewing their hands and advising improvements to their games. If you think he’s still a douche because he has a touch (only a touch) of swagger in his words, then that’s on you.

There are plenty of people who flap their gums way louder on this site with only a fraction of the game that guru has. If you want to shut guru up, go heads-up to the tables with him and knock is head off Glasgow style.

In fact, I’ll play you myself. Best of 7, heads-up 50k. Put your chips where your mouth is or go sit quietly at the rail.
