Site freezing regularly

Lagging again at 2:40am

yep same for my table

Yeah I was in a small SnG that was lagging bad earlier. I ended up just leaving the table and going to play on a different site, as I’m sure many have done.

This is making Replay lose players, so I hope they get it straightened out soon.

tried to bet 80 chips as you can see have also saved the hand - ended up winning with the st bit wanted to bet the open ender on the flop

agree you can leave but when you in MTT and spent 2 hours playing and could not call - and to be told to check my computer settings that is what has got to me as no why would I - when I said its not just me

hope it is sorted and we get an honest reply if not then am done :frowning:

I was just now playing a ring game at the Japanese sea 4 table 8-20 11:40pm.
Was dealt 7-7 checked for the flop and the flop gave me a 3rd 7.
Site froze, then folded my hand when I tried to check.
Total ripoff!

honest reply

What’s bothering me just as much as the lag is the nonsense answers from the support teams. I know they’re just saying what they’ve been told to, so I don’t blame them personally, but they haven’t even attempted to explain what’s going on. They’re just repeating canned nonsense like “try clearing your cache.” Like when an IT support person tells you to restart your computer. They don’t have any reason to believe this will fix the problem, just that it sometimes fixes other problems so it becomes the go to suggestion for a problem they don’t know how to fix. For the last few weeks every hour the site is effectively unplayable for about 5-10 minutes. If you’re playing a ring game you just just leave. But if you’re committed to playing a tournament this is extremely frustrating.

exactly so Replay - please can you do this run a script on all chat for last 7 days and use the key words - frozen and Lag and lets us know how many players - if not then please clear your cache and try IE8

Well, here’s the thing… not long ago, all tournaments froze up, but ring games were running fine.

That doesn’t sound like a server issue to me, and it doesn’t seem like a client-side problem either. Doesn’t it suggest a code issue?

I’m on the bubble at the Full Moon tournament. Great timing!

At the very least it’s an issue on the server side. If it’s a code issue then the code running on the server is faulty, which still makes it server side. Semantics perhaps, but necessary now because Replay tried blaming the hack from a few months ago on a client issue (which was totally absurd) which now forces us to make this distinction. Of course a degradation of service experienced by multiple users is a server side problem. But Replay will nonetheless try to pass it off as a problem on your computer.

I have no knowledge of Replay’s production environment but I’m willing to bet what’s happening is a timed batch process, perhaps running hourly, that’s consuming significant compute resources or using resource locking incorrectly. Any developer worth their salt would be able to track this down quickly, but in light of all the other issues we’ve seen popping on the site it makes you wonder if there is even an active tech team anymore.

I also encountered a horrifying bug while playing Full Moon. I have lost the hand number, but there was a situation where I went all in on the flop. I was timed out due to the lag at the time and it force checked me. The turn was a scary card so I decided to check, it timed out again and I was force checked again. On the river I checked also but the UI showed me as having gone all in instead. Luckily the opponent appeared to also time out and could not call, several draws completed on the river.

Well right, if it’s not client-side, it’s server-side, unless it’s something related to some sort of network issue, which I highly doubt.

I personally think this is just another example of rolling something out before it’s fully play tested. I may be wrong, but they seem to just go live with changes and let the customers do the testing. Proper testing is time consuming and expensive, and they are a fairly small company, so I can see why they might do this.

They are obviously and rightly concerned, and are no doubt doing what they can to fix things, but that doesn’t really change anything as far as I’m concerned. It’s still frustrating, they are still bleeding customers, and it’s still a problem.

You might be on the right track suspecting a cron job type thing.

No ides what it could be - but alerts on performance is standard and can be done so Replay know there is a performance issue and deal with it - Could be DOS attack, CDN, jQuery & JavaScript with multiple API codes , increase in number of concurrent actions. Or they just not upgrade and forgot to pay the bill

Or The Sunster joined the Mad Dogs and Replay was not sure what to do  now that would be fun xxx

If the Replay staff is reading ALL the complaints of their system here on the forum and NOT responding, then we should deluge the HELP link with as many complaints as possible and get their immediate attention. Just go to the top of your profile page, click the ‘?’ and fill out the form…

I just stopped playing altogether, don’t need the aggravation, I’m here for fun. I’ll monitor the Forums to be advised from Fizzymint when everything is back to normal. Whatever normal is…

I just played 2 sit n go’s back to back and they both froze. I went all in on one hand and of course it froze but kicked in just in time. Neither game was fun playing like that hope this issue gets fixed soon.

This is not enjoyable at all - played several nights ago and it was bad. Thought I’d give it some time to get cleared up. Since its still going on today, I guess its a bigger issue than usual. MTT’s barely make their guarantees to begin with - this isn’t going to help.
