Is The “Helping Hand” Endorsement Used To "Troll?"

Personally I mostly use the poker pro endorsement to say hello to people I have chatted to when we cross paths at the tables, the helping hand one I find is not used for the purpose it is meant for,
(or is it ?) I would rather have people pay to use the endorsements from there own chips, maybe a hundred a pop or similar, most of the ones who have trolled me after sucking out are usually pretty low on the chips stakes anyway, in my experience the insults rarely come from the better players, so maybe the low chip folk would think twice about winding people up if there was a price.
Personally I get insulted(and threatened) on a daily basis at work by experts, a wee helping hand dig is not going to bother me too much, when people are threatening to come back and kill me after my shift, I laugh them off as well, usually telling them exactly when I finish and where I will be, lol, they never ever show face.

Agree & I have suggested this too! Endorsements are meaningless and worthless bc they are FREE to give and the system can easily be abused and gamed too!

I would prefer to deactivate the system entirely for my account. Endorsements is a good system for young children at school, and not for adults trying to play poker IMO.

That’s disturbing. A jokes a joke and banter is banter but there is a fine line. Insults and threats should be taken seriously and penalized IMO. Some people are crazy and its not worth the risk laughing off this behaviour - nor is it acceptable.

Thankyou ma pal, but I was talking about my work life, Threats and a bit of violence once in a while is all part of it, I work with quite crazy people and know how to handle them, it’s mostly bluff on my part though although it takes the fear of a wee bluff at play chip poker away :innocent:

What difference does it make? People that get endorsements don’t know who they are getting them from.

Exactly when I use them.

Same for me.

I troll people by sarcastically giving them the Poker Pro achievement after a horrible play

I must be different, Don’t troll anyone, just enjoy the opportunity to give folks the endorsements they deserve that are available and never sarcastically.

I would bet most wouldn’t know you are sarcastically trolling them! lol Some players might even think its a genuine compliment. lol

Encouraging bad play & bad players is good for the game on RP. Poker players players occasionally sincerely say nh or good call which translated means the opposite.

Stay Classy. Most players will take a Poker Pro Endorsement as a positive and it’s anonymous so I don’t know what your accomplishing except for self gratification.

self gratification.

Sometimes that’s what I’m looking for

Plus you’re supposed to make losing opponents believe they’re playing well, so it has two purposes.

of course it is lol

I have to agree, and never believe a endorsement is an attempt to disrespect me. I always try to have a positive attitude. Guess I’m either naïve or correct and will never believe fellow players would waste their time to troll others here at Replay

amazingly naive - you said it!

I have told you before - I am not your friend and never will be. I certainly do not want your ‘prayers’ - they are useless

I recently started playing in the Dream Weavers league which is a team poker concept, and a heck of alot of fun. This endorsement actually can be used in its intended sense in a format like team play. When you sacrifice a great hand to help a teammate rebuild their stack and the team gets more players deeper in to the points it is very worthy of a Helping Hand from the recipient.

The problem with having endorsements in general is it is an incentivized way to lash out when a player is on tilt. Whether they are titlting/venting or if someone is trying to put/keep them there. Table talk is a part of the game and some folks use it to their advantage. This is another tool they can use. Now 25 chips isnt much of an incentive and alot of the time the recipient player won’t even see the endorsement / jab until much later.

Instead of these endorsements i would rather have emotjes to use at the table.
They are already at the chat bar but the program has disabled them . emotes appear
Right click in chat bar and choose one but when hitting send it doesn’t.

No, sorry, big no on emoticons. It would just create a spam fest, would be horrible to see. Please do not go that way.

Heaven forbid we have something fun lol
