Is The “Helping Hand” Endorsement Used To "Troll?"

I keep the lobby window open until I see my endorsements and chips credited them I close it out, about the same amount of time as you.

Maybe rename it the “Bingo” Endorsement then! Its mostly used and received regarding bingo anyway.

Agree! And yes I have lobby open in background ALWAYS & I might check it occasionally or not… This is how I notice I’m receiving notifications that I’m rarely noticing whilst playing. E are difficult to notice in general whilst playing as previously noted…

Notifications are slow to display on RP too! Sometimes I receive notifications or PMs that will not display until I reload the lobby or start a new RP web page etc.

A player mentioned he did not want to receive “helping hand” endorsement. This player likes to show bluffs to balance out aggressive play with AA KK type hands. knowing these facts can i affect their poker play if i give them this endorsement as a negative reinforcement? should i use this non poker play tool to my advantage? hmmmm… i personally get lots of “helping hand” when i stack off to other players, i think its funny, but hopefully it acts as a negative deterrent for my bad play.

I’ve played on other platforms where u could give players a  or a :poop: (tissue) or many other items! It cost chips to give out items.

The “Helping Hand” really is the consolation prize to try and troll and insult lol

I agree, if the Endorsements system is there, then why not use it for fun? Giving a Helping hand is prob the only E high stakes players are giving out! Have some fun!

Helping Hand endorsement has many meanings but Replay wants players to use it in a positive manner as like a thank you for answering a question.

Its deff used to try and tilt players and troll them! And yes its 100% fair game IMO!

That’s not the intent. How can you try and tilt or troll players when it’s anonymous ?

I agree with Goatsoup. The helping hand endorsement is in my opinion used by the majority of players who give them out as a put down. I occasionally receive a helping hand endorsement but it is always after I have been stacked. At first this pissed me off. Slowly I realized that I cannot really be diminished by this person’s childish behavior unless I allow it to happen. So I simply just ignore it now. In this way playing poker can be a wonderful exercise in practicing acceptance and non resistance to what happens.

Thanks for all the feedback. To troll players using endorsement is definitely not what we want to happen, but we appreciate you all for sharing your thoughts. We are taking notes.

Thank you for responding to my post.
Hopefully, this endorsement can evolve over time
or just be eliminated, period.

It can be used as a thank you endorsement or an insult endorsement. Depends on the recipients interpretation. Stay positive. An endorsement is an endorsement.

Well, I for one would not have known I was trolling by giving helping hand endorsement to a player that took out an all-In player. That player eliminated a pain so that’s a helping hand, not a Poker pro or good sport to me. Grapevine suggested that it was not intended for that purpose which is true, and I acknowledge I use it for my own reasoning. In short, I want to say I would not use it in a negative way at least not knowingly.
Please use endorsements for positive and embrace however many you get.

Perception is reality & reality is perception! Players misinterpret things all the time!

If your intention is good and positive then its not trolling. Trolling is a deliberate negative act and behaviour, trying to annoy and upset other players. You cant accidentally be a troll the same as you cant accidentally be a murderer.

The intention for each different E is explained by RP but policing it is a little ridiculous IMO. Players are free to use it however they want the same as players are free to perceive reality how they want.

I had to look up what it was as I just got one.
They player got a big win off me as they won the hand - I was sure I had it, but neglected to account for the flush and got single-minded about the straight, thinking I would at least get a split pot.

Anyway, I was stopping for a while and, when I closed the table, saw I had got a HH.
No way it could be for anything else.
So it felt like it to me like it was an ironic cap-tilt.
Maybe the player was happy to win but felt bad for me, given I had an actual hand and wasn’t just mindlessly going all-in.

It could be a Nelson-style “HAHA!” or it could be a friendly wink to say “oof, thanks for the chips bud”.

I don’t much mind either way. I know what happened and I’ll learn from it.

I must admit I have received the helping hand endorsement on occasion.
Usually I feel like I’m being dissed, but not every time.
I do enjoy giving out endorsements, most of the time it’s the poker pro endorsement.
If I get a bad beat on a player and feel like they have been a good sport about, I’ll likely give them that endorsement.
Not sure if I’ve ever given out a helping hand endorsement, or ever will, since it generally feels like you’re being dissed, and I don’t play like that.

An endorsement is an endorsement no matter what kind a player receives. Players shouldn’t take it personally if one doesn’t like the endorsement hence the “ anonymous “ feature which I think is correct :white_check_mark: lots of posts about them. Love them or hate them I think they are here to stay.

Sorry you feel that way my friend but as, I always say we are like snowflakes and are different. Guess I am just an optimist. I feel if I get to me the best endorsement possible, which is helping hand does not mean the poker hand but the fact I have helped someone in some fashion.

I agree that if I’ve helped someone in some fashion, the helping hand endorsement is a nice thing.
I’ve just noticed now and then, after not helping someone, but playing a hand poorly, suddenly I get a helping hand endorsement. Suppose I helped that player by playing poorly, but it feels like I’m being dissed, lol, have a great day.
