My favorite teacher was in the third grade and will never forget my home room teacher, Miss Beasley. She was connected with all of us kids as her own. She just had a great way of teaching us to have fun learning the subjects. She kept her guitar in the room at all times and sang great songs about the subject we were learning, when us kids needed a boost or break. We would all join in, on some of the song’s she wanted us to, which would help us to remember her teachings of that subject.
May I ask who in your life, who was the best teacher you had in school and why?
I had a 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Bewly, who taught me to read. I loved her for teaching me to read. But my 3rd grade teacher, Miss Catton, an Australian, made me love the idea of becoming a teacher myself one day. She was so kind. We had had a 3rd grade teacher before her, Mrs. Anderson, who was very old, and very sick with cancer. (She was our principal’s wife.) One day she had to leave, and she never returned. We felt sad about that, but then lovely Miss Catton arrived, and the world was new again. And hopeful.
Mr (John) Burns, I started at a horrible school with horrible violent bullies as teachers, when I was 10 I moved to a wonderful school. Mr Burns became my teacher, he was a bit of a hippy with a fantastically engaging, interested and kind way with kids, we made films, went sketching in graveyards walked up hills. He was an outdoors guy.
He went on to better things within the education department, I don’t like to think how I would have turned out without him, I was not an easy going kid. When I arrived in his classroom I was a mess and can truly say he made me a better person.
He went on to change many many kids life’s for the better.

My substitute social studies teacher when I was a senior in high school. Became my girlfriend and after I married here when i enlisted in the Marine Corps 4 days after graduation. I divorced her 16 years later. She was a lot older then me but at the time she was my very favorite teacher
Litenin …Carol gave me bad grades cause I cut her class a lot because. she made me stand in time out a lot in the corner of the class and all my friends would laugh at me …lol.
