I loved the book and the movie equally but do agree I could make the case that it make Brooklyn more important than Ireland, not that it slights Ireland, it reveres it, but the small down mentality was up in front, but not in Brooklyn. I went to school in Brooklyn, live next door in Queens and my daughters have lived there and know it too can be quite small minded. I could see living in both places and be very happy about it.
