When you consider such artists like Abba to Alannah Miles to Babyshambles to Buddy Holly Catatonna to culture club and the list is endless Although I do not have real favorites I like anything from 50’s to Press
“One” … that was one of the first albums I bought, after Harvest and Tapestry. Aside from some great hand-me-downs from my older cousin. It would be a toss-up between the title cut and “Try A Little Tenderness”, if I had to choose a fav from that album. What a great band! Had all their albums.
Electronic, Heavy Metal, House (especially Chicago house which is where it originated) Soft Metal, Reggae (another of my favourite genres) there are so many if you had to listen to the same genre of music forever what would you choose My grandad once said to me when I had Black Sabbath or similar blasting out Lad he said! What the bloody hell are you listening to (he had not heard heavy metal b4) I told him. What are they saying he asked well listen Granddad. Listen he bellowed Carl ? he said at least I could hear the words not like that bloody rubbish. And music is like that. With over 5000 music genres now I wonder what the old lad would think of today’s music lol

I agree that your favourites change all the time depending on your life circumstances and exploring new genres of music. For me, the one song which always brings a smile to my face is Save the Last Dance for Me by the Drifters. Aged 15 and new to the delights of boy and girl dancing, this was always played at our youth club at the end of a Saturday night and I shyly wondered which boy would ask me for the last dance:
