Weak Players Love Thinking "Backwards"

If the board is obviously scary (3-flush, 4-liner to a straight, paired board etc.), they will often fold at least as much to a small bet as they will to a large bet.

They are really into “well if he had the nuts he’d want me to call, so the small bet is strong and the big bet could be a bluff.”

That’s all just wanted to share this observation. I’ve gotten called in a few spots lately trying to rep the straight/flush/whatever by hands as weak as A high, when I use full pot to overbet sizing. Conversely, when I minbet or bet 1/3 pot, I seem to get disproportionately many folds.

This is really valuable to inform exploits if you observe a player has these tendencies! How nice to be able to bluff a very small size and get maybe even MORE fold equity (or at least as much) compared to a big bet that exposes a lot of your stack to risk.
