Not sure that would help if the issue is latency, tho… then you will be refreshing to make the light change color! Lol
I am not a programmer person but my understanding, having absorbed some cursory knowledge by osmosis from more educated friends, is that this type of thing often has to do with software that was originally coded in a less-than-optimally-efficient manner.
I am told that going back in and fixing unanticipated issues that result from that inefficiency, after the fact, is often a huge pain in the donkey
I have said for ages something has gone wrong here tables freezing kicked off tables and nightmares trying to get back on then I have to sit out of 1/2 hands even though I’m sat back in and more the logistics need looking at although I doubt it not until reconnecting to new server yep all this at most inopportune moments I dread to think how many chips have been lost by players as long as the table pays who really gives a poop certainly not the winners and not REPLAY obviously as if they did THEY WOULD HAVE SORTED AGES AGO
This is very interesting to me since the root cause of the problems on Replay will come
across as “not caring”.
We all know from past experiences on Replay a simple problem becomes a crash and burn
site without much if any response, especially if it happens on a weekend.
Their history is to clean up the mess after the fact.
Whatever can be done to improve user experience, no matter how difficult,
should be taken off the back burner and finally be addressed.
They need to care enough to make good progress toward the ultimate goal of having
a great poker site.
We’re certainly getting the impression that Replay was built on an old rusty chassis so to speak.
The car comes equipped with a hotline to customer service, a worn out F5 button
and a decent heater to help with the frozen moments in time.
The original coded software in online poker sites can be updated to achieve more optimal results. Many online poker platforms continuously update their software to improve user experience, security, and game fairness. Here are a few ways they can optimize their software:
this has been going on for 2 years.it has gotten worse with the merger.happens to me at least 4-5 times a day.i have to close all of replay and reload everything, and of course it always happens at a crucial spot.
I don’t want any fancy stuff other than better Stats (the ones they currently provide are nearly useless to help inform strategy) and a site that runs smoothly more often than not <3
That would be true if it was a client issue, but F5 wouldn’t help in that case. (That doesn’t mean the Replay client is efficient, it’s definitely not, it’s just not the cause of these issues)
It’s likely what most people are having a problem with is the communication between the client (your computer) and the server (Replay’s computers that actually control the game). It’s not unexpected for there to be some disruption on the server side as they move to the new host - just have to hope it’s temporary thing.
@Excaliburns I think the chassis is actually pretty solid, to me, it’s the interior that badly needs an overhaul.
Every time I have had a table freeze, when I get back to the table again I find that the game has gone on without me.
The next time it happens to one of you, see if this is true. You can make a note of the hand number and check the replay of the hands where you were frozen, or you can hit the “replay hand” button and then in the new window hit “save this hand” and replay the hands later.
If everyone at the table is frozen, then it is probably a server issue. If the others at the table keep playing while you are frozen it is probably NOT a server issue as a server issue should break the whole table not just one player.
I believe most of these problems are (as lihiue said) a communication issue and Replay can do NOTHING about that.
Folks,… stuff happens,… complaining about and or blaming someone for a problem that is most likely without a solution might feel good in the moment put seems to me to be mostly pointless. I believe Replay does not want you to be unhappy and the staff does their best to fix problems when they do occur.
Maybe, the next time it happens to you, try sending a quick report to support with the hand number included and move on.
I leave lobby open on right hand side of screen which shows the play now button, I have the table on the left. Doing this with any hesitation on the screen I can then hit the play now button, which loads the table, without spending 2-10 minutes logging out etc.
I don’t play more than one game now, but don’t have near the frustration. I hope this can help other players. Replay should know by now what to do and hopefully they will let us know when they succeed.
On MTT playing i had my table window 2x open, 1x to see the chat/dealer messages, 1x to see the MTT info in chatbox. Sometimes was one of both windows frozen, and on the other window was playing without problems. I had enough time to refresh/fix the frozen table. On SNGs i can open the table window 2x too.
