“25 to 35k” means the same thing as “25 to 30 to 35k”
nobody likes a pedant but it makes me want to scream every time you type like that lol
you can leave out the intermediate numbers; they’re totally useless
anyway tough beat. i’m out as well, was doing really well then flopped AQT with AQT in my hand and the straight came in. flush over flush next hand. it’s a big-swing game!
And BTW…all 5 remaining events are Hold’em. I know a couple of the lobbies have a link to Omaha Hold’em rules up top. But…where it says Game: NL Hold’em further down is what the actual game is. (That takes precedent.) There was an earlier event that had the same situation as well in which it was worrying me. (But it turned out to be the game that was advertised on the lobby and on the RPOS promotions page.) I think the Tech team uses the same 40 templates from last year and tweaks most everything for this year (like changing RPOS XI to RPOS XII…and changing the start times) but forgot to take out a couple of the Omaha links as it does seem like they cut a couple Omaha events this year (or from 2 years ago?) and replaced them with a couple more Hold’em ones. (They also had 2 stud-8 events this year instead of 1.)
I’ll see everyone tomorrow for the remaining 4 events. Good luck to those still hunting for a seat. For those having already won one, good luck adding to your RPOS “bracelet” haul. Increase your lead over Phil Hellmuth’s zero so that he has a long way to go to catch you if this ever catches his eye as something to pursue. Kappa (for all you Twitch people out there.)
Sarah has to be so gutted to get runner up this late in the festival. She’s been dying to get a TOC seat based on all the chat interactions I’ve had with her.
On that final hand, Eman had just over a 1-in-4 chance to scoop:
Whatever it is, I plan to not use the rebuy to add on, and instead use it to rebuy, if get unlucky(I have been getting insanely unluck, about 100 times worse then the good luck + skill that got me 4 wins(Should have 6,7,8 wins, if not for insane bad luck). If I am still around by the end of Rebuy, if I am starting stack or lower, I finally use Rebuy to add on, and then do add on after that. Yes I know that supposed to use rebuy to add on at start, but such crazy, insane bad luck, variance, that I not going to give variance, bad luck a chance to knock me out before the add on break, or only give bad luck, variance less of a chance to knock me out before add on break.
This is my 12th RPOS and, having been in every one of them and the fact that they’ve not once had this format, I find your conclusion unacceptable and I would appreciate an explanation from someone in an official capacity. Perhaps the Tournament Director, or A Player Rep associated with decision-making for this RPOS, thank you.
Goat certainly was our Hellmuth (not in terms of attitude…but definitely in results).
Like Hellmuth at high stakes, Goat was not very good playing the 1M buy-in tournaments against the GTO wizards and high stakes grinders. There would be an occasional win here and there but it was at a low frequency.
BUT when it came to the Replay Winter Games, the RPOS, SNG promotions, etc…anything with a leaderboard…he knew how to dominate and get results time and time again. He had a tendency to overbet in certain spots, but he basically knew his table and knew whom he could target to make it always work and get max value.
His dedication was second-to-none. For instance, if there were a Replay Winter Games gold medal based solely on ring game points, he would play 6 cash game tables at once for like 19-20 of the 24 hours just to ensure victory.
He easily has the most RPOS POY titles and probably the most RPOS wins (or at least the most by a mile starting from when he became an RP member). Sadly, he lost heads up to (who I believe is even more dangerous in NLH; one of the best ever) -BlackWidow- for a TOC title; thus, we never got an MTT in Goat’s honor.
I’m happy that when I finally took the HRS POY title away from him last year that he was a participant in all 10 events. It wouldn’t have felt as rewarding (or that big of an achievement) had he been absent.
Bluffed about 10 to 13 times. Cbetted about 70% of time. About 43% of time that cbetted, either had air, or semi bluffed. Saw the flop about 26% of time. VPIP was about 23%, 24% of time. Guru would have been proud as I bluffed garbage like 93, Q7, etc. Took Players to Value Town.
There was one of the winners in TOC that I was successfully picking on his blinds regularly, and about half the time had something, and half the time had nothing. I raised 65 suited from UTG +2 about 2.5 x pre over his bb, and he called. Flopped the straight, and stacked him.
Very late tourney I got card dead, and got caught stealing blinds, 2,3 times, where I had marginal hands where blinds 2k/4k, 3k/6k. and ran into 1,2,3 buzzsaws. Got bad beat out in 4th place.
I played pretty good, too bad I was bad beated, knocked out in 4th, but such has been typical bad luck.
