RPOS XII Chatter

Not proud to lay a gross 3-outter beat on cozale (AJ > AK) for like 90% of the chips (him having the chip lead to win it all) heads up but he did hit a 3-outter (AJs < AT) on me earlier at that final table to stay alive. But hey…it’s another RPOS win to celebrate!! Just that list of the final 7 who cashed…all insanely good players.

Sorry for taking the Jamie Gold (Q9) hand and busting your tens, Asure. With the chip stack I had and the blind levels and the table dynamic (esp., cozale being in BB with 2nd biggest stack), I had to keep applying pressure and open there. Sadly, you didn’t have a big enough stack to get fold equity protection and I got lucky to hit after having to call.

I think currently the potential 40-person TOC is now down to 31. We (Asure, snow, oleary, Guru, me) are certainly trying to gatekeep people out of this.

Now let’s all have EXTRA FUN. It’s time for the MAIN EVENTs!!

Hi @RyRyRobe

First of all, Congrats on the RPOS League of Legends wins.

Next, I have to hold my hands up and say it is my job to create the templates, so the Tech team are absolved of any blame for the various configuration slip ups which occur.

We have a system of peer review but some stuff still gets through. Listing the rules of omaha in a hold’em game is thankfully not going to affect the outcome, although it might put of some hold’em players if that is what they first see when they open the Lobby.

Please feel free to shout out with any errors which show up, however small. The sooner the better.

Best of luck to everyone in the Tournament of Champions.

Rob.

It’s all good, Rob, sir. I was just trying to deduce a reason for the slip ups without trying to pinpoint blame. There are a lot of meticulous parts to look at to ensure everything is right; so, it can’t be easy to catch everything. I tried my best to assure everyone what the game actually was in the lobby a couple of times (like…hey this isn’t a rebuy event buyer beware…hey this is hold’em not omaha) when I thought I caught something in time. Thank you for organizing all of this like usual.

today my 100k poker game was not able to get my bets in kept logging me out

I got slowrolled in the 1st (of 2) MAIN EVENTS! LOL! I jammed with my tiny 5-bb stack with AJ and the villain let more than half the timer bar go down before calling with QQ.

I went out in 13th place in main event when I shoved my 6 bb stack on SB with A2 suited and ran into BB’s TT.

Played pretty good. bluffed about 6 times all tourny long, 2 of those bluffs got caught. Again I got card dead late tourny, and the players were limping 2k/4k, 3k/6k a lot, which prevent stealing blinds, and so had to fold marginal hands not fit for limping, stealing blinds, and the few rare times I did try to steal blinds, the players were extremely defensive of their blinds. And I ran into buzzsaws 1,2,3 times trying to steal blinds on rare occasions. All that combined kept me at about 6 bb stack until I shoved A2 suited on SB, and ran into BB’s TT. I just couldnt get anything going very late.

Still happy with my play.

As long as you are happy with your play regardless of results (although you cashed in the Main which is awesome!!), then you have all the feelgoods, positive vibes, and momentum you need to be ready for the TOC on Sunday. Best of luck with the final 2 events seeking Win #5.

Also, let me congratulate snowman on locking up LoL POY. A 60K-point lead cannot be caught with 1 event to go!! I’ll be content if I finish in 10th having skipped 12 of the 30 events.

AND NOW for the extremely interesting HRS POY race. There’s probably 8 people with a chance to get it (a few will need to win the Main, though).

Down goes the King (me). All hail to Younguru, the new HRS Player of the Year! I finished more than 100,000 points behind my total from last year. (Guru’s total would have only been good for 4th place on last year’s LB.)

Razor, great win, buddy! MAIN EVENT champion!

What a finish to the High Roller Series. @Younguru finishes 3rd in the finale to jump from 3rd to 1st, edging out @_snowman and @rcw3333 for the POY trophy.

ugh… raise your hand if you already knew what the “Key hand” was gonna be from this one! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Congrats @RazorB on breaking through and punching your ticket to TOC! You played like a real champion today. I used all the tricks and lucky charms in my bag, and you just wouldn’t die, damn you! Well played.

Random meaningless but kinda fun statistical side-note: throughout RPOS I’ve been all-in in this configuration 5 times (pair + flush blocker vs. nut flush draw with overcards).

Mathematically, I’m expected to win at least 2 of those, but I went 0/5.
Meanwhile I think I won far more than my share of dominated ace races. The variance… she comes for us all…

Congratulations Luke, @Younguru on winning the HRS title. Well played and well deserved. You did what you needed to do to get it done. Best of Luck in the TOC on Sunday.

I got slowrolled again by QQ! LOL! The dood limped with QQ and I jammed my 8 bigs with QJ. He took his time and then eventually went “meh” and called. He later said he actually thought I might have a bigger pair in that spot…it’s a TURBO tournament for crying out loud. But hey…I cashed in the final event. Woohoo!

For only playing 18 of the 30 League events, I will certainly take a 10th place finish on the LB. (Only the 2nd time I’ve made top 20 on the LoL LB because I usually can’t play a lot of those events.)

Again, congrats to the snowman for winning the POY title and breaking 400,000 points!! Only 2 people did so last year. snowman’s total would have placed him in 3rd last year, but was only 9,000 off last year’s winner (morcosborcos).

Thank you, Replay Poker, for another fun-filled, successful RPOS!!

2 aces were sufficient to take that hand… He added 2 more for emphasis I guess, lol. Nice tourney win!
