Nordic Warriors League

Valhalla’s Chosen 48 strong got together on a Friday night to throw down and have fun. Hurricane Helene cleared out the bad air and brought the thunder, lightening, and lots of rain. As the battle raged on the number dwindled and chip stacks grew. One stood about the rest Norris the @_snowman built a huge stack and blocked out the wind on his way to a record tying 7th win for the quarter. @XXC63 fought with strategy and cunning to make it to 2nd, @tjmcfarland stopped on the gas and hit the breaks letting them fly by and shot them down for 3rd, @jdawg barked up a storm scarring his way to 4th, @tinboat was right at home in the raging seas steaming to 5th, @hohkay Brought out the lightening rod to power to 6th, and @DenaliD roared his way to the first chip paying 7th. Great game tonight epic

Don’t forget about the RPOS changes Warriors, we will have our TOC WTA next week, I am looking for a time that won’t interfere with the million other things happening, and tomorrow is that last two games of the quarter for me to add names to the list.
We set multiple records tonight, attendance our best at 48 players, Norris set an individual highest score for any game in the history of Nordic Warriors achieving 36,727 points. and we set a preregister record of 37 players before the game started.
Thank you all for making this league what it is, excellent play tonight everyone!

Any thoughts on having just straight Omaha instead of hi low? just my lowly opinion that so much luck is involved in hi low, maybe straight omaha might rival Texas Holdum a bit more with skill. Anyway just a thought, not criticizing this great league.

If you look in the Main Replay lobby as to how many players play Omaha high as compared to the split games, split is preferred by most, I love the high game as well and play when I can in the main lobby, and in the medley format of the WILDHORSES league.
Some may say your comment is a bit controversial as to what game takes more skill to beat on a consistent level. Omaha Hi/Lo is the most challenging poker game IMO it tests all your abilities.

Thanks Mike.

Michael, Andy

I’m jumping the gun but wow what a tournament today, there were probably 12 people who deserved to finish in the top 3.

So many swings and great hand vs. great hand matchups, Nordic Warriors OHL, don’t blink or you might miss it!

Thor dropped the hammer and 34 warriors hit the gas. Engines roaring as they plowed thru the turns and traded some paint. Beating and banging twisted metal and burning rubber told the story. When the white flag waved Wayne @WS66 broke away from the pack and took the checkered flag. Behind him 3 title contenders fought for positions and valuable points as @_Rain nosed out @_snowman and @Younguru in a photo finish for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. @DenaliD powered his car home for 5th . Outstanding game tonight.

Game 2. The Quarterly finale. Odin sat back and watched as 33 warriors took to the felt for the final game of the quarter. Poker is a game of skill and good fortune, perfect timing and crushing defeats. @goodFELLO246 mastered these elements and made Odin proud taking no prisoners at the final table for the win. @mrzick played with valentry and bravery knowing when to go and when to fold to finish 2nd, @_Rain followed up his 2nd in the early game with a second podium in the night cap for 3rd, @jobe2010 OOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMHHHHHHHHHHHHHeeddd his way to a spirited 4th, and @FastMama got on the wrong end of a raging river to finish 5th but still collected a treasure chest of chips. Great game to finish out the quarter.

A few cool facts: @_snowman and @younguru tied for a league record 7 wins.
@_snowman made it heads up 11 times, @_Rain 8 times, and @Younguru 7 times but @Younguru was 7-0.
@_snowman made the final table 26 times
Both @_snowman in Hold’em and @Younguru in Omaha became the first warriors with over 200,000 points in each discipline.
@_snowman, @_Rain and @Younguru also joined the 300,000 point combined club (4 total members)

I’ll let Michael tabulate the results and prepare the trophies. It was an amazing and record setting quarter. Thank each of you for being a part of it.

Norris aka @_snowman

Some of you may not know that Norris is a snow sculptor and for 25 years he sculpted snow art with his kids every year.

It seemed fitting to incorporate some of his sculptures into his award for this quarter.

Norris excelled this quarter setting standards that will be very hard to beat.

Best of nine games points totals

NL Omaha Hi/Lo- 161,535

NL Holdem- 235,418

Combine- 396,953

WINS- 7

Congratulations Norris on the fantastic Q3 2024 run.

I’d like to thank the Academy… hey does this mean I get to slap Chris Rock now?
Really very proud to have won an award in this fiercely competitive and high-level league. May never happen again so I will savor it while I can

Kudos to @_snowman who was a terror like nothing I’ve seen before this quarter!

And to @_Rain and @southwestmba for being superlatively tremendous organizers and lyric poets/hype men!

Warriors, here’s to another great quarter, until we meet again…
IN VALHALLAAAAAAA….!

Michael, thanks for the cool avatar. Nice touch with the snow sculptures too. Congratulations to fellow Champion Luke, @Younguru , those are some impressive numbers you put up this quarter, 7 wins, 7-0 heads up, record points for Hi/Lo, just to name a few. Always tough playing against you. Every game is a challenge in this league with all the good players. Not sure which Academy I’m suppose to thank, but can I slap Younguru instead of Chris Rock? Just kidding Luke, much respect for you.

LOL you already slapped me with KKKJJ over my turned nut straight to deny me Win #8, what do you want, blood from a stone???

Congrats champ! Always a pleasure trying to figure you out… maybe I should employ Brad’s cat as counsel for future encounters?

Combined Leaderboard Final Results.

In addition to our two champions, it should be recognized that @_Rain made a late charge up the leaderboard to claim 2nd, @Bradspam and his ringer of a cat were a solid 4th, and @mrzick finished very strong to overtake me for 5th on the final game of the quarter. The names on these leaderboards are a testament to the level of play and level of competition we enjoy game in and game out.
