NL Omaha HiLo: What's low?

Hand 411434737
I have a question:
On This hand I had Low 8,7,6,2,A and lost against the winner’s low 8,7,4,3,2.
So far I thought cards has to be as low as possible and A is the lowest, right? Please bring some light into this.

Hi @Karlos001
I believe you need to read the hand from left to right to compare (highest to lowest).
You had 8-7-6-2-A and your opponent had 8-7-4-3-2.
Reading from left to right, you both had the same 2 cards, 8-7, but at the 3rd card you had a 6 and your opponent had a 4 which is lower. That’s why yours wasn’t the lowest.
I hope this helps.

Yes, after that 3rd number (6 vs 4) the other 2 following are insignificant.

thx I have often wondered that myself thought I just saw it incorrectly

Look at the low as a number with the Ace being number 1 - the lowest number wins.

So 87,432 is lower than 87,621 - simple.

Tks very much you all. confusing, but makes some sense to me. just wonder how i did win the lows so far

why not ? hold-em player ? most people that dont like hi/lo dont understand the game, I didnt when I first started playing it and almost stopped, glad I didnt because its all I play now. If you think about it its hold-em (hi) with the added OPPORTUNITY to win lo, I`ve been beaten many times with a full house only to be saved by winning the “Lo”, just a thought blue, gl at the tables

Hello 1530, Thank you for the response. I never thought that I would a response. OMAHA, I have played several hands, but the game never captured my interest. “SIT’ IN GO” is the game I play the most. I’ve got slammed a few times before liked the game. By your response, I think that I will give OMAHA more rounds, and may get on the tables with you. Thank for the response. Guys like you keeps poker great. ………….BLUEDIME.

Hi, dont go to the forums lately, so this is a reply to your post of Aug. 19th, if you ever want to get on a sng 2 player table to pick up any hints I might be able to give you in regards to Omaha hi/lo feel free to do so, its a little hard at first but once you learn " LO", it`s the same as hold-em, Obviously you can win twice or at least “split” the pot in hi/lo and you of course have only one winner in hold-em unless players have the exact same cards . let me know, 1530

Hello 1530,

Since our last contact, I have been training in OMAHA hi / lo. And I have found that Omaha is a real game I have won a few hands, and played in some MTT free rolls. I play as often as I can to gain the experience. But still the game, to me have a lot of bad beats. Maybe will catch you in a free roll or one of the Omaha games………Thanks
