I can't be the 1st to question ranking system

Didn’t think about that.
I just meant for normal players.
Still fun game to play.
Replay is a great site.
Sounds like there really isn’t a way to get true rankings.
Thank you for your reply!
Sincerely!

You are very welcome. I agree it would be nice to have a realistic ranking system I just don’t believe any one has figured out a way to do it. I am glad you enjoy playing here, maybe I will see you at the tables sometime.
Peace!

Just ask the computer -

The best ranking system for players on a free poker site can vary depending on the site’s specific goals and the preferences of its players. However, a widely recognized method is the Global Poker Index (GPI), which ranks players based on their performance in cash positions in qualifying tournaments over a 36-month period1.

For free poker sites, a similar approach could be adapted, where players are ranked based on their results in free tournaments. This could include factors such as:

  • Frequency of play: How often a player participates in games or tournaments.
  • Performance: How well a player finishes in tournaments, considering the size and difficulty of the field.
  • Consistency: Regularly placing in the top positions over a period of time.

Some free poker sites might use a Sliding PLB score, which is a leaderboard that ranks players based on their most recent results, with older scores gradually phasing out2. This encourages active participation and rewards current performance.

Ultimately, the best system is one that is transparent, fair, and encourages competitive play while also being fun for all participants. It’s important for a free poker site to clearly communicate how their ranking system works so players can understand and trust the process.

This should be a great way for us all to enjoy the site, without ranking concerns. :+1:

I for one could not care less about someones “rank” on a play money site lol.Play chip games are nothing like cash games and we all know this,so why obsess over rank? Sit back relax and enjoy the game is my motto!

I was told its solely based on your bank. But it seems other things are in play. No big deal really.

Now I am curious… what other things?

I just wonder if what tourneys you join in, has anything to do with it. Or is it based solely on your bank? I have had really good days winning chips and my rank actually dropped by a few places. So I was thinking that perhaps higher stake games you do well in, play into rankings.

I gotcha,… I had noticed that myself for my own number but it just means more people went up than you during that update period. This is what the help page says:

Thanks. I don’t buy chips. so I guess I need to win more often.

Perfect explanation. Also very intelligent observation of the player who wins a lot but has to buy more during droughts. After playing over 10,000 hands. When I seek additional player info, I find myself using rank coupled with basic profile info (age, about me, recent hands, etc.) to gage the player and his/her exp. with Replay environment itself…

It was certainly an adjustment from other sites, especially first few sessions moving poker table windows around, locating the darn button! (not talking about women) It’s really small and blends in with the avatar frame, so action takes a little longer, not to mention the action timer is just long enough for (insert things that happen to quickly) and you’re fumbling around . But tourneys are as long as SnG’s on other sites Aside from the limping parties, which is obviously results from being a play money site.
