Why is Replay poker going on chip count for your ratings

I had a good rating of 8,000 now 11,000. I lost 2,500,000 chips in one game. It was a terrible day.
Now if I buy 3,000 chips will my rating go back to 8,000 yes or no?

Remember this:? “I only play with the chips I win. Anyone can buy chips to look good.”
Wait 24 hours, get 2500 bonus and try to win another 500 off some bingo head in the ‘kiddie’ table.

Rick, it was a mistake. Thought I was in that $2,500 game and I hit the wrong key and then went into the $2,500,000 game, But also never bought chips going on 482 days now.
Thanks
Joe

OUCH!

Yes, you are right about 35.00 Dollars.

Do NOT care about your ranking-it makes MANY ppl. think they need 2 buy chips and honestly, rankings mean little-just have fun and use the free chips n free tournaments n free weekly 100k ticket n go get a bunch of free chips my friend.

Instead of complaining, how about suggesting something that’s better?

There was another thread several years ago where players made some very good suggestions especially mine. But it must have gotten lost since there were a lot of threads and posts that month.

I’ve noticed over the years that Replay always will listen to suggestions.

I’ve been unable to locate the previous thread, but I remember my suggestion addressed recognizing the skill level of players from the current statistics being gathered. So, no additional or any new data would be required.

Very true. Not caring about chip count and treating each time like a learning experience to improve will ironically probably increase your chip count.

Been here about 10 years and i still don’t understand why so many players are so obsessed with rank lol. It is a play money site for petes sake! If you are playing here to improve your real money game save yourself the time. It won’t help much you would be better off playing for pennies with friends !

It’s part of human nature to see where you compare in relation to others especially when skill is involved. The current ranking is a good start but still could be improved upon.

Again, players should make realistic and practical suggestions instead of just complaining.

Humans have a natural need to compare themselves to others to assess their own worth. A visible ranking reinforces this dynamic by providing a numerical and objective benchmark. The higher you are, the more superior you feel over other players.

Being ranked highly confers a sense of prestige and recognition, even if it remains virtual. It fuels the ego and gives the impression of belonging to an elite, which is very gratifying.

Rankings exploit the mechanisms of gamification: progression, achievable goals, symbolic rewards. With each climb in the ranking, the brain releases dopamine, which creates a vicious cycle where you want to climb ever higher.

In short, it’s just a pissing contest.

Not for nothing,… if you read the 1st post in this thread you will see that it was simply a question regarding how the rank system works. I didn’t see any complaining.

Just sayin’.

Just curious:)—So, u by accident bought into a 2.5 million game instead of 2.5k game and then STILL played and lost all your chips:)…Asking for a friend

True but re-read the thread Title and then let me know what you think.
