my grandmother had the chicken salad gene, and so do I.
if I had to request one, I’d probably have a chicken salad sandwich (and some other stuff) for my last meal. of course, some chicken salad is better than others…

Don’t get me wrong, I am not unskilled, I cooked my way through school, I also make a good surf and turf, small broiled lobster tails and filets, for the rainy Seattle nights, good eating! one of my wifes faves

I’ve seen it w/ cranberries, but haven’t tried that either.
i have grapes etc on the side w/ practically every meal (at home). I will definitely put the two together next time I have chicken salad :heavy_check_mark:

Noodles - egg noodles, lasagna noodles, rice noodles…any noodles are a comfort to me :yum:
But, yesterday I bought an egg salad on a croissant and it was the best I’ve had in a while. Crispy, buttery croissant with lettuce and enough egg salad for at least two to three normal sandwiches. I took great comfort in that old classic :slightly_smiling_face:. Would have settled for salmon, tuna or chicken salad just the same. Just remember going to gatherings when I was younger and there would be platters of salad sandwiches on white sliced with the crust cut off and cut into quarters, perfect little triangles of squishy goodness, and where I would normally be satisfied with one sandwich I would eat about eight or ten of those little triangles.
Grilled cheese made with good rye or sour dough and cheddar, dipped in maple syrup.
Chicken soup of the Italian wedding variety.
Fish and chips.
Pierogi - meat, saurkraut, potato and cheddar, blueberry, cherry boiled and topped with lots of browned butter.
Proper caesar salad mixed at the table with a slice of tortiere.
Porchetta roasted with potatoes, fennel bulb, apples, onion and carrots and bulbs of garlic.
Petite filet mignon with bernaise.
Coquille Saint Jacques.
Crab legs with drawn butter.
Forgive me, I’m on a diet  Yesterday was a cheat day - also, had pizza with pepperoni, ham, onion and pineapple.
