Cha-ching Morning!

Played four tourneys this morning and was comepletely card dead. However, on the last one I managed to cash. Rookie freeroll and a tiny field mind you, but I did make the big step up double money for 5th over 6th.

Then I got hot.

I signed up for a satellite freeroll, a 2.5k buy-in and the next rookie freeroll. The first one was an hour away, the next two 45 mins and an hour after that.

In the meantime I played The Beast for 2.5k and took 3rd out of 33.

My satellite started. I usually don’t play for tickets but I thought that I’d give it a try. Large field as these usually have, 167 entries. I was running well early and ended up going deep. I was chip leader when the bubble burst (20) just as Kick Starter got under way. I find playing two tables a bit tough but if I’m feeling good I can usually manage. Besides, I’ve already won a ticket in the satellite, so I’m not too concerned about concentrating with a huge stack. Figured that I’d be doing a lot of folding, but the cards just kept coming on both tables and I had to play. Just as the rookie freeroll started, the satellite went on break. I really did not think that I’d be playing all three at once. I won a couple of good pots early in the rookie game and then the break was over for the satellite.

All three tables I kept getting great cards. I couldn’t fold. Every five or ten seconds, action to me. I was losing my mind but I was winning in all three! The one that I wanted to win the most was the Kick Starter. The satellite was final table and was dwindling down so the hands were fast and the orbits quick so I was constantly called to action. There were times when I was just looking at the pot and the board and betting, no idea what my opponents’ stacks were. At one point in Kick Starter I took a bad beat and lost half my stack.

The satellite was the easiest to play but it kept coming around so fast. Eventually I won.

Things slowed down and two tables was almost a breeze, especially when Kick Starter wasn’t getting great cards, so there were was much folding. Meanwhile in the rookie game people started dropping off and it was final three. I took out #3, I think I had KK and Villain had AJ, but I ended up losing out and cashing 2nd from 24.

Then I could concentrate on Kick Starter. I battled back and made the bubble at 15, then the final table. I made top 5 when we blinded out a sitter. I was hoping to blind him down, he only had a couple of orbits left, then I realized that everyone else seemed to have the same idea, hah. Once he was gone the chips started flying. I ended up cashing 3rd out of 94.

So not bad morning’s work:

tourney ~ (net)
Rookie Free ~ (5/12) 10k
Beast ~ (3/33) 13.5k
Satellite Free ~ (1/167) 10k + 4 tickets
Rookie Free ~ (2/24) 17.5k
Kick Starter ~ (3/94) 25.5k
net totals ~ 76.5k + 4 tickets

Increased my bankroll by about 20% and finished winning back my accidental 250k loss entering that hi-roller the other day over 30k clear of that.
