RPOS Satellites/Freerolls

These have been fascinating so far. I forgot the average level of play could be so low. I really feel for all the new Replayers still stuck at microstakes; I would lose my mind playing these guys every day.

People really just don’t fold. Even if you 3bet the pot will go 4, 5 ways to the flop, and people will continue for 1/2 pot or more with absolutely nothing. All of this sounds good if you’re playing a tight, proper range, but the reality is just that you have no control. The only way to win is to best-hand these fields; it’s very difficult to win a pot by betting out the opponents.

Yeesh!

I believe it is very important for new or even lower rank players to play against high stakes experienced players to improve their game/bankroll.

I am sure you and many other high level players, have provided a Great learning experience to the lower level players mentioned. :+1:

Remember during the Preliminary rounds, you can always buy into them. No tickets are required. You just can’t buy into the Final Game!

Thanks @smooth99! I’m aware — just trying to take a sneak peek at the field

@Litenin you were right, I got my first satellite win/ticket yesterday
It was basically two tournaments in one. Field was maybe 40 players; it was complete bingo mayhem until about half the field was eliminated.

Once the blinds were higher and the dust had settled, everyone left started playing more reasonably and you could navigate more easily. People started folding to raises and giving up postflop when they missed. It was a really interesting dynamic.

I played there last week, 7 MTTs only, every day one, 3:45 am US eastern time, 9:45 am for me here. Result ok, final tables, best place: 3, 12 tickets. I didn’t play bingo. 9. of 2329 players on leaderboard.

great job @poki65! what was your strategy for these fields? did you just play tight early, or were you targeting weak players? tell us your secrets

I played tight and save, tried some blind stealing, was on monster holes preflop all in. Someone calls there most time, 73o too. I looked how one of them kicks the other out. On US sleeping time are not so many players there, good too. I like to play sometimes on low stake 1/2 Aquarium, know the playing there. 2.5 years ago i learned there multitabling, 5 and more tables at same time. My longtime win rate (many thousand hands) was there 320 big blinds / 100 hands. 402k dealt hands now. I am not a great MTT player, have not many strategy learned, but the last weeks was very good. 2. place on Marathon week 1, in the chips on last 4 of 7 SNGs. I like more Ring, playing for winning on longtime.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a winning strategy!
That’s an impressive winrate for sure, low stakes or not.
Congrats and hope to see you at some final tables soon

Congrats & you’ll get a few more I’m sure. That was my point tho, thanking you & others for helping the newer players learn from the advanced players. It also sounds like you may agree, with me that it’s also good occasionally for the advanced players as they find, strategys may need to change a bit
