twice today ive taken bad beat with ace ace against 77 in 2 different tournements and seriously its getting out of hand..i save the hands so i can go back.. the 2nd one i was like no way did he hit and yep lets do it again see how he like it..
That’s nothing. The other day I was all-in 4 times in the same tournament, was head all 4 times and lost all 4. It’s also normal. That’s how poker works. Over the long term I will probably win 70% of those hands. I just happened to have bad luck to lose 4 in a row. It’s called variance. It’s important. We can’t win much money without variance because that bit of bad luck that we have is what keeps the bad players coming back to pay us over and over.
Bad players can’t win consistently without luck, and players won’t keep playing if they don’t win enough. If we want to keep getting paid by bad players, we have to lose a few suckouts and bad beats to them to keep them interested.
It’s frustrating when it happens but in the long run it’s good for us.
How do you go all in, lose, and remain in tournament?
He was all in against players with a shorter stack than him Angelina…
Talking of bad beats I went all in recently with AQ and somebody with 9 4 called me for some reason…they weren’t even a big stack it was for all their chips as it was for mine…
Board came 9 9 4 4 4…amazing
All in means YOU are all in.
Calling a player’s all in who has a shorter stack is just calling HIS all in.
You can go all-in and get called by a shorter stack. It’s also pretty clear the point of the story is that napkin had hands strong enough to be all-in with, whether or not her entire stack actually ended up being at risk.
You’re not all in if you have a stack in front of you.
You can click the all in button, but if you’re not called for it, all then you are not all in.
So when you put your chips into the middle you say “I’ll be all-in if someone who covers me calls, otherwise I’m not” or you just say “I’m all-in”?
