It started with me doing reasonably well in the Big Bang tournament. Then I raised Used Ford Guy in a small blind v big blind clash. I had A^, the board came K-x-x, and he took my preflop raise and value bet on the flop. That left me in the bottom half of the table.
A short time later, in the cutoff, I have 88. I pot raise and Action Jaxson in the big blind shoves with an absurd Q-4. Pot committed I call. The flop gives him a 4 and a backdoor straight draw that the turn and river fill. Lovely.
Epilogue: I managed to battle back and get down to the bubble, sixth of six players. Naturally, Action Jaxson, playing with my chips, calls my suited A5 with a more reasonable pair of sevens. The board gives him a set but me two spades to my flush. Of course, the third never came. But hey, the RNG isn’t random.
