Welcome to the forum! Introduce yourself here =)

Hi Replay community! A little about me both poker, nonpoker. Im 53, live in WA state. Unfortunately going thru divorce process, separated(thats not to try to solicit non poker interest, and not trying to get some to feel bad for me, etc, as I am ok). I work at Subway.

Poker wise, I started playing poker back in 2005(Has it really been that long ago), and have been playing for about 18,19 years since back then.

This is not to brag, etc. Altho I am either not a poker pro, and dont consider myself a Pro yet, I am a long term semi poker shark, long term winning player, etc.

I have studied, and do study Harrington on Hold Em, Super System, Skalansky’s book, Mike Caro, Upswing Poker, Jonathan Little’s Poker Coaching Academy, Bart Hanson’s Crush Live Poker, Nathan Black Rain Poker, Doug Polk Poker Videos, Negreanu Poker Videos, Poker Profit Vlog, 2+2 Poker forums, And luckily for me a Poker Coaching Mentor Associate of Shaun Deeb(Luckily for me I won a bet with Shaun Deeb, and Deeb said he would have a poker coaching associate at 2+2 poker forums, coach me, if I won the bet with Deeb. That was a long time ago)

So why dont I have a lot of money, and why am I here, etc?

I built $15 into $1850 on, at Pokerstars online, playing sit n goes, tournaments. I cashed about 36% of tournaments, sit N goes, and had a 19% ROI

Offline I have played in about, around 300+, about 75 person, $30 buy in tournaments, and have cashed about about the same 36% of tournaments, about, around 115 to 120 to 125 to 130 out of about 300 tournaments, about the same 36% cashing ratio, 19% ROI.

Then Online Poker Black Friday hit in 2011, to temporarily shut down online poker, Poker Stars, and permanent shut down Full Tilt Poker site, so I had to, and cashed out my $1850.

Then WA State had to go make playing nonfreeroll, real money online poker, illegal, a Class C Felony. Playing free online poker in WA is ok, if dont purchase play chips, and only play Free and freeroll online poker.

Then Recently, offline casinos in my area, have lessened offline Poker tournament, to between about 1 a day to 1 every 2 days, greatly lessening Volume, and making it hard to get to the long term to profit long term, which caused me to temporarily until I get to the long term, if ever get to long term, at their, the rate of the casinos, to be about either a just barely losing player to break even player to just barely winning player.

Until I move to Phoenix, Arizona to be closer to my 5 year old Daughter, where both online, offline poker is flourishing, then until then, Im stuck playing the occasional real money tournament offline, and playing free online poker online, and playing Poker Freerolls for both real money, and play chips online, and playing those prize, sweepstake poker freerolls online.

Now a lot of free online poker sites, way the heck too many insane, crazy donks, that put variance at such ridiculously high level, that would have to play for years to beat that variance, unless variance smiles on you, in your favor.

But despite that, there are a few free online poker sites with a couple, few, some donks, enough to not be crushed by variance, and enough good players to make one a better player, while not too many good players that would either cause variance to crush you, and or cause you to either break even, be a slightly losing player, reduce your winning too much, etc.

So having the right amount of Fish, Rec players, Donks, Regs, Good players, etc, is very important to those who are, want to be good players.

And Replay poker seems to be one of those sites, communities.

I like how the community, players are competitive, focus on trying to improve, play the best they can.

I also like how me, others, we can help each other out to help each other to playvbetter.

I also like the resources Replay, the community, etc, have to help me and others, to continue to stay good, improve, etc.

I also like the great selection, balance of Tournaments, Sit N Goes, etc, the play chip payouts, etc.

I also like the Replay teams thing, and would like to join a good team.

It doesnt have to be the best team. But shouldnt be a average to bad team.

Already I have 3 poker pro endorsements and have built the 20k new player stack to 219k, playing a lot of tournaments, and so far cashing about 30% of those tournaments, so its not just only luck, variance, eyc, but skill, etc.

So which Teams are good to join, which should I avoid, etc?

I also plan to contribute, help with poker advice, suggestions, to help players get better.

Again this is not to brag, as I, others, we all have room for improvement, and it doesnt matter where on the ladder you are, as long as going up it, instead of down it, no matter how slowly going up ladder. And those higher up ladder, helping others up ladder, are no better then those others on ladder, its just that they are in position to help others up ladder, because of time, effort, improvement, fortune, etc, combined together.

Also I am just introducing myself, and telling about myself, etc.

Also please intoduce yourselves to me, it would be nice to meet, get to know, etc, the community.

Good luck to you all on the felt. Try your best, dont goof off, have fun, etc, on the felt, and maybe I will see you on the felt, etc.

My profile name is Guyddog; my name is Guy. My avatar is our yellow lab. Just a loving dog but he could be a guide dog or Guyddog.

I’ve only played here since Apr 2024 but I have loved this site. It’s great in all the different options to play, free chips options, and most of all, friendly community, great users. And the people who run and moderate the site are so helpful.

It’s all just for fun, and nobody is too serious or harsh here.

Good luck to all at the tables!

Hi @Huskies!

Replay is about playing with actual people, we don’t use bots here, and it’s something we’re really proud of. We’re so happy to know you’re enjoying the site.

Hello @crootnik!

Very interesting on how you utilized CDrom to learn poker. I remember when my parents upgraded our encyclopedia in CD-Rom format and I thought it was the coolest thing. Thanks for sharing some books that our players can check out.

Hello everyone. Andy here. I have been on replay since 2019. Started with 3000 chips and won my second tournament and haven’t looked back since. I only play MTT probably because I like the long view when it comes to strategy and because once you enter you have lost all the chips you will lose. I am a big fan of the leagues here at replay, I started in the Gemstone and regional MTT leagues and tuned up my game as I added to my chip stack. In 2023, I was invited to play in the Donks, which led to invites to join the Nordic Warriors, Dream Weavers, Barnyard Muckers, Donks Omaha league, Wildhorses, and Wildhorses PM, League Invitationals, and Forever Phil Lighting Duos.

Met alot of really great people and learned alot about poker and all the different games replay offered. I am now a co-organizer for the Nordic Warriors and League Invitational so shoot me a friend request and PM if you want to see what we have to offer. (Spoiler kick ass poker and super cool players)

I love the promotions the RTC, Winter games, Thanksgiving gobble, the Monthly Marathons, and the other pop up competitions. I still play medium stakes Hold’em and Omaha Hi LO is my favorite game here.

I am a Pirate for real, went to the California Maritime Academy (the Keelhaulers back in my day lol) spent most of my life at Sea sailing on submarines and cargo ships. Married for 33 years with two sons and hopefully a few grandkids on the horizon lol.

Hello @Mo-JoJo!

I feel we’re like the same vibe on how we approach this game. Good luck at the tables!

Hi @Asuronetorius and welcome to the community!

It’s always interesting to read how someone learned poker and where they are in that journey. You recently joined Replay, and I can already see the potential on how you can positively impact our community. We have several threads on different leagues, and you can check them out here: Private League Discussion - Replay Poker

If there’s a specific league you have your eye on, simply message the organizer and ask to join in!

I like the Negreanu videos, as well. I still watch a few of his older tournaments. I very much prefer local in-person games, but this site is a nice way to kill some daily down-time and play a game I have loved since 1991. I feel it helps remind me of the poker basics, to play every day.

After relocating from Las Vegas, where I enjoyed the underrated family-friendly Westgate Poker Room (right next door to the well known LV Convention Center), I found ReplayPoker to provide a similar community feel. As a loyal ReplayPoker paid subscriber in my 2nd month today, I truly value the great subscription benefits, and the family “regulars” vibe here matches the positive atmosphere I experienced at Westgate. ReplayPoker has proven to be a solid platform for poker improvement, offering a welcoming and valuable experience.

Ahoy, CaptOv here. I’m really a frail old man pretending to be a tough rum drinking poker playin’ Pirate, or am I bluffin’?
Anyway, I truly love the site for its million-dollar fun that cost me $2.99; I’m afraid to really gamble, & here @ Replay I can play pirate with my virtual parrot Polly on my shoulder. Love the math of the game too.
