Trying out Omaha

So usually I only play No Limit Texas Hold’em as it’s the only game I know how to play, but I tried Omaha earlier, after reading up a helpful article about how it works on the Help page, so it’s basically the same except you have two extra cards in hand, but can only use two held cards with the board to make hands. I managed to figure it out in the end, might start playing a few more games here and there. Still need to get used to it for now.

It’s different, plus the purple table cloth looks different but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. I’ve read about the other game types, 7 card stud sounds quite complicated. Texas Hold’em is still my favourite but I’ll see if I can get into Omaha some more. Anybody else trying other types of games?

I do love Omaha, especially Hi-Lo. I had to review hand strength rules for Lo a couple of times, but once I internalized the rules, I found it very engaging. I like Royal too, but it’s really hard to know when to play in Royal. Good for you for mixing it up!

Beereagle69 yes free go to your lobby page and change your buy-in to freeroll and you can find all the tournaments you want to play and learn.

Got it, I’m aware of the Freeroll tournaments already, just haven’t tried any Omaha ones as of yet. Thanks.

You are welcome

Omaha can be a lot of fun. Just remember you MUST use two and ONLY two cards from your hand. I got fooled a few times before I ingrained that in my memory and play style.

Yep, I managed to catch onto that pretty quick. The small text notification of what you have just above the board is really useful for me in Omaha, I try not to use it in Texas Hold’em as it’s much easier to read hands on there, but with two extra cards in hand, it’s very useful.

Sometime I get confused playing Omaha and think I am playing Omaha Hi/Lo

I read about the Hi/Lo versions, sounds a bit more complicated so I’ll stick to the plain old regular recipe for now.

Thanks snowman, I’ll think about it.

I came late to Omaha, but now Omaha hi/lo is my favorite game. Probably because I get dealt so very many low cards! LOL

Lol, I hear you. I haven’t tried the Hi/Lo version yet, sounded a bit complicated for me, but regular Omaha is pretty good.

I tried Omaha and Omaha hi lo and they are VERY HARD and i give credit to people who play them as they are TOUGH to play, takes alot of thinking lol.

Try 7 card hi lo. It’s the only game I play now online. That too is a bit complicated.

I think that would scramble my brain a bit lol.
