The Totally Topic-less Anything Except Complaining Thread

Thanks. Below is what I have. When I register for a tournament it doesn’t ask me to use a ticket. The marathon ticket expires in 5 days, so I take it I have to use it Sunday?

Yes, when you register this Sunday, it should allow you to register as long as you still have a Final ticket available. Just remember there is no Late Registration allowed for the tourney which you’re interested.

Here are some effective ways to freshen up an old car interior:

  1. Coffee Beans: Place a few cups of coffee beans in an old sock, tie it off, and tuck it under your seat. The pleasant coffee aroma will help neutralize other smells.
  2. Baking Soda: Sprinkle baking soda on your mats and seats, leave it overnight, and then vacuum it up. For persistent odors, keep an open box of baking soda in the driver’s door pocket12.
  3. Apples: Cut up a couple of apples and place them on a plate in your car. Apples are excellent at absorbing smells, so this can help freshen the air1.
  4. Dryer Sheets: Leave a dryer sheet or two in your floorboards overnight. They work wonders in fighting off unwanted smells1.
  5. Essential Oils: Soak a cotton ball with a few drops of essential oil (like lavender or citrus) and leave it in your car. Be cautious if you transport pets, as some oils can be harmful to them1.
  6. Vinegar Solution: Mix one part vinegar with two parts water, spray it onto the seats, and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then wipe away any residue. Vinegar kills odors, while water rehydrates the interior3.

“I’m writing a book about anti-gravity. It’s impossible to put down!”

The phrase “Far be it from me” has an ancient origin and has been part of the English language for centuries. It signifies a disassociation from something, akin to saying, “God forbid that I should… [do that thing].” You can find it in biblical texts, including the Wycliffe Bible of 1382, where it appears in Genesis 44:17: “Josephe answerde, Fer be it fro me, that Y thus do” 12. So, it’s a way of expressing reluctance or refusal.

At the 6:40 Mark, there might have been a mistake by Burns and Allen thought for a second they had to do it over!

September 24, 2182—a date that sounds like it’s straight out of a futuristic sci-fi novel! :rocket::stars:

On that day, we’ll be keeping our cosmic eyes peeled for asteroid Bennu. This celestial wanderer has been on our radar because it’s considered one of the most hazardous known asteroids. But fear not! The odds of it actually impacting Earth are quite slim—approximately 0.057 percent. That’s roughly one chance in 1,750. So, while it’s essential to stay informed about these space rocks, there’s no need to panic or start building asteroid-proof bunkers just yet! :milky_way::earth_africa:

The universe is vast, and our planet has been dancing with asteroids for eons. Let’s hope Bennu decides to waltz past us harmlessly!

At 9:32 a.m. EDT on July 16, with the world watching, Apollo 11 took off from Kennedy Space Center

On July 20, 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin (1930-) became the first humans ever to land on the moon. About six-and-a-half hours later, Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon.

The Apollo 11 mission took approximately 2 days, 22 hours, and 56 minutes to return from the moon to Earth1. The astronauts left lunar orbit on July 22, 1969, and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24, 19692.

It’s incredible to think about the precision and planning that went into such a historic journey!
