SLEEP!

stars1

Where is your favorite place to sleep? I grew up sleeping in tents and trailers in the summer, and sometimes on a cot under the stars in campgrounds within driving distance of our home. My favorite was dropping to sleep on the roof of a houseboat in the desert, watching the August Perseid shooting stars until my eyes closed for the night.

What about you?

I had a jungle hammock with mosquito netting that my father brought home from somewhere. In summer, I hung it between two trees, would read by flashlight until I was tired, then slept until the birds woke me up. Then, I’d grab my bike and fishing pole and go fishing in the river 2 miles away. Good times. Ike was President. I liked Ike.

I would be willing to time travel back to that age!

On my boat. Doesn’t matter if it’s out to sea or docked, something about salt air and that gentle rocking motion does it for me :motor_boat:

Excellent topic Jan :+1:t2:

Craig, I think we’ve talked about everything else so far that we all have in common–except sleep! (What will we think of next?!)

I don’t know Jan but I got all excited when I saw the topic LOL :joy: I love sleep and naps.

I guess the next topic would be for you to start a Food thread :yum:. For all us foodies out here :+1:t2::joy:

If I don’t use my yoga mat it is the “Fly” on top of a boat, somewhere in a hidden creek of the “Waterrocks” of Croatiia.

Maybe the circumstances are more important than the place to sleep.

My favorite place to sleep was always in my husbands arms. Whether we were under the stars on a boat, on a mountain top, on a beach, in the desert, in our backyard, or just on our floor in front of a roaring fire. As long as I was wrapped in his arms… it was always my favorite place.

I think you have the truth in this, johnlittle!

One of my favorite places to sleep is in a tent. As a kid twice a year we would go camping up in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. We would go in June and August. It was nice and peaceful listening to crickets and the river that our campsite was right next too as I drifted off to sleep.

Another favorite place to sleep is on a cruise ship. I’ve been on 3 cruises and it really depends on where your room is located on the ship. On my last cruise in January 2020 my room was towards the back of the ship and I could feel the ship moving sometimes at night while sleeping. It was nice and relaxing. On the two other cruises before that I couldn’t really feel the ship moving from my room.

I sometimes have trouble sleeping, and it doesn’t matter where I am. When I can’t sleep, I listen to the sounds of rain, and it really does help.

I don’t need rain sounds to have that experience. Does that make me a more advanced model than you? I’m looking for a trade-in on some body parts!
