I’ve been playing the sit and go tournaments lately, and I’m seeing people sitting out while everyone else gambles. They keep doing it and then jump in when people are eliminated. I just won a tourney where the guy who ended up in second place only played 2 hands, and sat out the rest. The person who got 3rd was a good, active player.
Is there a way to kick someone out of the table, or report them or something? It sucks playing for prizes and someone else gets to reap rewards when they don’t play.
Anyone who doesn’t take their seat in a SnG in the first 5 or 10 (I think it’s 10) minutes is removed from the table with their stack.
Sitting out is no different than folding every hand except if you are at your seat you can play if you happen to get an awesome hand. If you sit out you will fold AA pre. You DON’T want any of your opponents to fold out AA or KK or AKs pre??
Anyone who sits out even a single hands is doing everyone else at the table a favor. At a 6-max table you have a 1 in 6 chance to win the hand. If one player sits out, you now have a 1 in 5 chance. I would not complain if I were you. ; )
Furthermore, a player CANNOT score tournament points if absent from his seat for more than 50% of hands dealt to him (although he CAN cash). Sitting out is terrible for your win rate. When Villain sits out, it’s great for us. The only time it can be a bit of a pain is if the sitter is on the left of your opponent, giving him the BT and BB one extra hand per orbit, but then it’s an awesome bonus when the sitter is on OUR left. ; )
Also consider that if a player sits out a SnG most often it is because they signed up for it 40 mins ago and it took forever to fill the seats and they have become distracted (forgot, concentrating on another table, real life distraction, etc).
I see this in MTT’s. I think they just want to cash in the MTT’s and avoid the temptation of calling and betting. Sometimes players have to just leave the game for certain reasons. I also don’t like it but if they were playing and built up a stack they won’t be kicked off.
