Add a 2nd to the list of close calls: 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 9th
Was 2 cards away: KK v. 89 on 28Q flop…but he got a 9 and I couldn’t counterfeit…lost lead heads up and couldn’t recover…actually lost final hand flush over flush, too.
Gotta keep grinding for a win somewhere! Maybe Stud-8 tonight? I do love stud, stud-8, and razz.
Good comeback (x2) as I saw you were down to 1400 very early on in the game and then with 6 players left was in last with just a 1 Big Bet stack (approx. 16,000 @ 8K/16K limits level).
Congrats on being the first multiple winner of the series. You took down the guy I tried to clip but couldn’t fade a 3 outter (AQ lost to A9) against his uber variant plays in the late game.
Your being kind to him, lol, he was shoving all in preflop with 25 to 35 to 45 to 55 bb’s a EXTREME LOT, like the big stack hehaw bingo he was being. Not complaining tho, as I knew somebody would eventually take him down, and his play greatly benefited me.
TOC bound for a third straight year! (Got 12th 2 years ago and 6th last year.)
OMG!!! So happy to not go 0-for-3 heads up…although I feel for Nemesis67 cuz runner-up is annoying (I know!). Finally shipped one today! It’s my 4th career RPOS win (2 in the League of Legends and 2 in the High Roller Showdown) in 4 different variants (Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha, Hold’em, Stud Hi/Lo). I’ll try to see if I can add Stud to the list tomorrow morning. I missed out on my lone Royal chance this year (got 3rd place)…although I hate royal hold’em. (Hey, RP, can we remove Royal hold’em for the more popular and ever gaining traction Short Deck Hold’em?)
The nosebleed top notch regulars know I play mostly NLH MTT’s (sometimes SNG’s, too) 500K and up whenever I do logon (which isn’t often unlike what you see this week cuz it’s RPOS week). Sometimes, I will play the other variants (e.g., Omaha Adrenaline) to upkeep my skills in all games because I liked being good at like 15 different versions way back when (from badugi to 2-7 triple draw and so on). And like last year, my results in the month leading up to RPOS were sliding downward compared to my norm (usually cash 1 out of every 3 or 4 events and it was more like 1 in 6 or 7). So, my confidence was shaky going into this again. But there is something about RPOS that just drives me harder and has me just get results at an abnormal rate. It also helps that the fields are slightly weaker (not to discredit the RPOS pool because there are some really uber talented RPOS regulars and Omaha specialists amongst the masses you have to clash with) on average (but also larger) compared to the GTO wizards I’m usually facing in the high NLH MTT’s.
But also…LUCK!! I had enough of it in this event. It was my day today.
It’s always a fun journey for sure trying for that TOC.
