R.I.P Val Kilmer

Sad day, Only 62 years old. He should have won a Oscar for his role in Tombstone. He is one of my favorite actors of all time.

His disease was a cruel beast. His death a slow horrific torture lasting decades. I hope and pray he ascends.

If you have never seen it. Check out the “Ghost and the Darkness”. Movie was based on a true story about man eating lions in Africa. Michael Douglas was also in the movie. Its pretty intense.

RIP
One of my favorite lines in a movie classic by one of his movie characters. Something I feel like saying in many poker HU situations.

Btw, I’m Kilmer’s character in the HU in case you;re confused

In the immortal words of Socrates “I drank what?!!”

I’m looking forward to watching everything Val Kilmer left us. I’m his age now but still too busy working my full time job (5 - 8’s ) and taking care of 16 cattle, 11 chickens, two dogs, and a 2nd cousin that has become my dependent. No my life is not sedementary yet but I can feel the old age creeping up on me. Pile that on top of my football injuries, numerous surgeries, numerous auto accidents (all related to driving to and from work), and one motorcycle accident. Blowed out knee, 3 hernia surgeries, 1 shoulder surgery, 12 cracked ribs, broke collar bone, and a bad back to boot. But I’m still kicking. Going to the feed store today to by 800 lbs of feed to piss ant each 50 lb bag into the barn before it rains. Staying busy seems to help keep me moving better with less pain. It’s hell getting old but I’m fighting it every day. Some call me a workaholic but I’m loving every new day that comes my way. Still walking and talking. Can’t complain. Always need more money but doesn’t everybody? Have fun and if you are young take better care of yourself. I wish I did. I am a single man. No family. Just friends and relatives. Be nice and love everybody. If I get to wherever before you do I will have a talk with Val. I really liked him.

You’re not 39 are you? LoL

My neighbor was 39 for over 39 years!

That was the best paragraph I’ve read here in a long, long time!

I’d suggest modifying it a bit and placing it in your profile.

I’m in a similar boat, but I avoid the doctors and just live with it.

60 hit me like a brick wall so I did the right thing and went around the wall. LoL

60 hit Val hard too…

Keep loving every new day that comes your way!

Awesome!

Same here. 60 hit me pretty hard also. I am now 64 and can’t see a damn thing without my reading glasses. I have chronic back pain now every day. A couple years ago I fell off the roof hanging Christmas lights. My back has never been the same. As far a Val goes, tombstone is a must watch and Ghost and the Darkness is very good also. Especially since its based on true events. And of course Top Gun. Good luck to all us old guys LOL.

*ADMIRAL ICEMAN TOPGUN2 :innocent:

I think he nailed it in “ The Doors” he had to look like a rock god in the beginning, then had to put on a bucket of lard worth of weight as the character declined, talk about suffering for your art, RIP
