the sum of all emojis is 62

feelmysins and johnlittle had the right answer.

A little bit harder now:

What does the : mean?

Or is that what makes the puzzle difficult.

Thanks

The : means divided by ( / ). Looks like USA and Germany have not the same signs for this. I didn’t know this, sorry.

Thanks, if I had known what it was, I probably would have had the correct answer.

The solution now. Erithacus had the right answer. And the : on it again, sorry, i forgot to change.
: is the same like /. : = /, lol.

Thanks so much for contributing this to the thread, Poki. Fun!

Very difficult now. Every letter stands for a number (0-9). Same letter, same number.
For a better start I made parts of it red. It helps to look to this first. Another help is to look to the green parts. Many can not be.
I solved it 2 days ago. I used only logic for it, what can be, what not. First try, right solution. I needed ca. 4 hours to do this. I thought I am good on such things, lol. Can be there are other ways to solve it too.
Another little help:
5 – 2 = 3
5 = 2 + 3

difficult

No answer in moment. Yesterday i gave the solution to Jan. Her husband want to have it too, works hard on it. I post the solution mid of next week here. It’s not too late to start.

I have the solution(yes, there is only one). But I want to give others the chance to solve it too.

You can post your solution, no problem. You can use Blur Spoiler to hide it.

Fisch WHO OWNS THE FISH?

Who owns the fish this time, and not who is a fish.
On a certain road there are 5 adjacent houses. Each house is a different color. In
each house lives a man of a different nationality. And each of these men has a
favorite sport, a favorite beverage, and keeps a particular kind of pet.

house

  1. The British man lives in the red house.
  2. The Swedish man has a dog for a pet.
  3. The Danish man drinks tea.
  4. The green house is to the left of the white house.
  5. The owner of the green house drinks coffee.
  6. The person that likes basketball has a bird.
  7. The owner of the yellow house likes soccer.
  8. The person that lives in the middle house drinks milk.
  9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
  10. The person that likes volleyball, lives next to the one that has a cat.
  11. The person that has a horse lives next to the one that likes soccer.
  12. The one that likes hockey drinks soda.
  13. The German likes wrestling.
  14. The Norwegian lives next to a blue house.
  15. The person that likes volleyball, has a neighbor that drinks water.

A help for solving, you can print it to paper:

Ok. Here is my solution:

  1. AAB-CB=ADE: Since the last digit is equal we have B-B=0 hence E=0.
  2. ADE-HI=AED: Since E=0, we have I+D=10 an therefore H+1=D.
  3. AHF-HA=AED: We can reduce it to F-A=D.
  4. CB+CG=HA: 2C=H or 2C+1=H and C<5 because we don’t have a hundered digit.
  5. From AAB-CB=ADE and H+1=D follows A(H+1)E+CB=AAB hence A=C+H+1

Assume 2C=H, therefore A=3C+1.
If C=3 or C=4 then A>9.

If C=1, then it would be H=2 and A=4.
We would have D=3 and I=7 because of H+1=D and D+I=10.
But because of F-A=D it would be F=7. (Two letters with the same digit)

If C=2, then it would be H=4 and A=7.
We would have D=5 beause of H+1=D, but then also I=5 because of I+D=10.

Therefore 2C+1=H, hence A=3C+2.
Again if C=3 or C=4 then A>9.

If C=2, then it would be A=8 and H=5.
We would have D=6 because of H+1=D and I=4 because of I+D=10.
But since F-A=D it should be F=8+6=14.

It must be C=1, therefore A=5 and H=3.
Than D=4 because of H+1=D and I=6 because of I+D=10.
From F-A=D we get F=9.
AAB-CF=AHF => 55B-19=539 => 539+19=558 therefore B=8.
CF+CG=HI => 19+1G=36 => 36-19=17 therefore G=7.

Full solution:

558- 18=540
- + -
19+ 17= 36
= = =
539- 35=504
(this editor eats somehow the spaces between the “=” and"+/-" lol)

For those who need something a little easier than Poki has offered (and I would be one of those, although my husband is all in on Poki’s puzzles!), here’s another from Maria Shriver.

Yes if you tap the blur it shows so whats the point?

If someone will try to solve it, but he want to read the next posts before doing this, maybe because i give later a help or more information, or questions to my puzzle comes, then he can read this without to see and read other peoples solutions.
But yes, easy to read other peoples answer, post the same and be a winner too.
