So this is a suggestion for the chat box. It’s something that is bothered me for about as long as I’ve been on Replay.
There are 3 chat feeds in the one chat box: player chat comments, dealer comments about the game, and broadcast announcements about upcoming tournaments.
I want the Dealer and Player chat, but I don’t give a hoot about the Broadcast announcements.
As it stands, the only way to turn off the Broadcast would be to select only player comments OR only dealer comments. But I want both.
A simple solution would be to have a toggle for each of the three.
Its already been suggested, nay SHOUTED as a suggestion that has fallen on deaf ears! BROADCAST makes a mess of the chat box!
We don’t SPAM & harass the SNG & MTT players about all the great ring games playing. So why SPAM and harass the ring game player about some MTT most ring game players don’t care about?
I wonder in a positive way of course, could it be that RP does care and listens to the players & updates must be tested before we are informed? I don’t know but I have faith!
The green broadcast messages in chatbox is for me the worst thing on Replay. Writing something to chatbox, next moment comes broadcast messages, and no one can see what I wrote. Many times 5 of this messages in same moment. And the many scrolling because it.
I’m sure it would only need 2 hours work to deactivate this. If someone knows what goes on in code only a thing of minutes. But the last 1.5 years started many threads because this problem, and nothing happened. I’m sure no one want or need to have this messages and the most want to have it away, hate it. Not good what Replay do their members.
I looked now 2 days to this problem and tried to write me a script to delete this messages out of chatbox. The result looks good.
It works. Broadcast is short or not to see in chatbox (0-1000 milliseconds), and gets then hidden. A timer-function looks to it. But it is not easy to make changes on many times changing or deleted chatbox items. I can bring my script in short time to an Add On too, autostart on opening a tablewindow then. But I have to look longer to it.
Hiding card messages could be too.
I’m definitely with Cleo here, have a toggle for each of the 3.
I want player chat and dealer chat, can’t stand the green broadcast announcements.
Like Poki65 said, sometimes I’m trying to chat then right after I send, something like 3 broadcast announcements show up and push my chat up so nobody even sees it.
Besides, I never look at those and never have entered a tourney that way, nor will I ever do so.
Like Craig said, I did enjoy when the winners of tourney’s were displayed, like back in the day before the big change at the tables occurred.
Totally agree Knutts. I too miss the announcements of the winners of tournaments, if I saw that one of my friends had won when I was playing another tournament I used to send a Congratulations PM. There is no need for the prompt to play other games starting, how many use that as they are already playing games, and you get a “ping” reminder if you have entered another one.
I do hope Replay reconsider this and take in the suggestions above.
I also believe that those Broadcast messages enable lags and possibly add to the failure of hand results being shown on some tables. The system probably can’t handle all the messages at once, and you think how many hands start and end at any one time on the site, the Broadcast messages certainly can’t help.
