Player with High Stakes shouldn't be allowed to play in Low Stakes Tables

@PeterPan4711
Why?. Why is it unfair?. Why add needless rules?. Why cant I play at any table I can afford?. What happens if I have 499k and win a big pot?. Am I booted from the table because I now exceed your threshold?. What if I have 501k and lose 2k on the first hand?. Do I lose my buy-in and get booted to a kiddies table?. Poker is a casino game. Are you suggestion that casinos should check our bank balances and assign us to a table based on that?. Really this is a idea nonsense.
There is a maximum buy in at every table and that is all anyone can use to beat you. Deal with it. This is not the first time you suggested this silly limitation so please get the hint…
Not gonna happen. Bad idea

Peter: I have a few chips, and I play freerolls,5K,20K and larger when given free tickets. Why can’t you let us play, we make mistakes and cards turn against us a lot, giving all the opportunity to win pots from us. I believe winning against lower ranked players should give you a boost. TC

I think we have discussed this before and discussion should be moved to the following.

You all have the same amount of chips to start at ANY table u play-let us play where we wish and try n win our chips:).

I’m pretty sure Peter is complaining about Ring games not Tourneys. I don’t agree with his premise because he should just move to another Ring table/game. In Tourneys, we don’t have that option but I like playing against both higher or lower ranked players.

It doesn’t matter to me. Players seem to focus too much on another’s rank instead of their dealt cards.

high stakes should not be allowed… to play low stakes…I don’t agree w/ this… because… I also started on low stakes games… I now mostly play privet invite league games on replay now… but I play low stakes game from time to time… and if I find a friendly player that has talent… I can invite them to try privet invite league games on replay… then they can make many more friend’s…

I mean these types of posts are just whining. Obviously no one will ever ban players from a table because they are too rich, and I think most of us know this.

There is an entire category of forum posts that is basically “I know this won’t change, nor would it be reasonable to ask for this change, but I am frustrated, so I am going to request an unrealistic change that would solve my personal problem”

Now maybe it would be cool to have specific “beginner tables” to help new players learn the ropes together without feeling intimidated or whatever

But an open table is an open table. If you don’t like playing with present company, you can leave

are you suggesting ring tables for beginners like the tournys they have exclusive to them now…freerolls i mean?

@lazerlo

Freerolls aren’t meant for just beginners. It’s pretty much a chance to practice a different strategy which one wants to try out or it’s just a convenient time to play a type of game.

They are competitive games and aren’t easy as you’re implying.

We all have beginners at Replay poker at one time & i remember when I was. I was so glad there were experienced HIgh Stakes people, in the low stakes games, including freerolls. We have always had a Great Community, that reaches out to help us navigate the site & learn how to build our Bankroll. I have had a lot of mentor’s & one specifically that helped me and encouraged me! Agree @Younguru , apparently times have changed dramatically in the last yrs.

I did not say this “high stakes should not be allowed”

where do you get this from ?

i respect all the players playing on a table of their choose.

i only do not understand why a player w 55.000.000 chips plays on 100/200 or
a player w 250.000.000 chips plays on 200/400

i have only 1.000.000 and do not play on 50/100 or lower

i simply do not understand their approach

that is all

you said high stakes should not be allowed at lower stake tables…you said it’s not fair lol.
It is play money site and even if it were a real money site if you have the chips or “money” you can sit. If you don’t like the rules of this site …DON’T PLAY HERE!
Most of us don’t like table bullies but we are patient and wait for a great hand and pounce…patience is KEY

i have not said that, that was some years ago

Colby, you have a read a message of me from last year.
After all the answers I have understood I was wrong and apalogized.

I never say anymore “high stakes should not be allowed at lower stake tables”
I apologized for this.

It is not good to refresh apologized messages from years ago to here, as if they were new.
Please do not do that.

the title of the thread simply reads “Player with High Stakes shouldn’t be allowed to play in Low Stakes Tables”

I’m using a 50/100 as example. max anyone can bring to a table is 20,000. its not like a high stake player is bring their entire bankroll to the table. lets say the high stake player goes all in. gets called by a low stake player. low stake player wins the hand, they’re now got 20,000 richer. high stake player can only rebuy for another 20,000.

lets say your playing at a casino low stake poker. Phil Hellmuth walks in and wants to join. are you really gonna tell Phil Hellmuth no, he can’t play? come on of course everyone is gonna want Hellmuth to play and have a chance to win his money.

To be fair to PeterPan, they did recant on that take, and this thread was re-opened when a new thread was merged into it, so the thread title is no longer accurate.

I still disagree with this though.
Valuing your chips is a good thing, but I don’t think that mindset depends on how many chips you have. If you’re valuing your chips so much that’s it’s affecting your play though, that’s obviously bad, but is also your problem and has nothing to do with the other players at the table. Usually that’s a mixture of playing stakes that are too high for your bankroll, but also people are just naturally risk averse. They’re both things you can work on though, and you’ll be less concerned with the bank rolls of other players if you do.
