Orion's Belt Team Poker

These alternates will soon attend “Benchwarmers Anonymous” meetings.

LoL

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Knowing that I’d miss yesterday’s RTC, I stepped aside, and Sue found a great replacement

for the GRRR team.

Yes, you can say I’m a benchwarmer now.

If the powers that be condense the RTC into 4 weeks, it should be much better.

Makes me wonder why we’re stretching this league out for so long.

We can utilize the morning and evening hours on Sunday.

But then they wouldn’t have their 25 hours of notice.

Unless they would have a provision that the morning team would also be used for the evening.

Also, it could be run as on again and off again.

So, it wouldn’t be continuous giving a 4, 6 or 8 week break.

I see it ideally as a 4-week duration.

So, it would be run for a total of 6 months of the year.

Then we’d avoid the “too much of a good thing” all year round .marathon

There are players that don’t use the forum, and English is a second language for some. Here is my list of interested players that have responded to me in a personal message. There are more here, please reach out to them for teammates.

Ask and I will be adopted! So if you are needing a fairly old but reliable player, I will be interested in your team! Thanks, Alan (@abahog)

Joe, we did not just wake up one day and throw a league in the lobby; we processed out all ideas and problems before we presented the league to Replay, you don’t have to have 4 players you can have 3. there are no bench warmers if you don’t want to have rotation or sub, I may only have 3 players, but I am glad if I change my mind I could add another in two months, It’s an option. some do well with communication and scheduling; Johan is one for sure. His team’s record in EB is stellar, others like me not so well, we are trying to make this fun and easy.
There is only one game a week, a 8 week cycle or 2 months, 8 or 9 games will be played each cycle depending on the months. Its a one-game-a-week commitment

I understand but you’re copying the RTC plans that have known issues of duration.

RTC is once a year, this runs all year, so the shortening of the cycle was ruled out. But we did shorten it to 2 months rather than 3 like most quarterly leagues

I’m asking Alan so you’re on the team.

Happy to have you…

Thanks.

Ha!

You’re on a roll sister!

LoL

At least you’re on the right track shortening it to 2 months.

Would you ever consider shortening it even more?

The RTC could very well execute their plans to shorten it to 4 weeks.

We’ll be standing at 2 months when this happens.

Why not get it done now?

We are at 6 games that count out of 8; that’s pretty short compared to most leagues. My truck drivers are union and will not make that many deliveries of new ideas, but much like our other leagues, we are not afraid to evolve, but if it costs us players because of so much confusion generation, well, Granny has got rock salt loaded and will handle trespassing ideas, rassafrassinrevinewerscominonmypropertyiwillsheowem.

And if you understand that last word and it’s origin, you are my peeps and well also old

Well, this is a tremendous opportunity, if it’s truly trial games, to test new RTC ideas.

You’d be doing @chasetheriver a great favor.

Assuming 4 weeks is the correct path, and RTC implements it and it’s successful, there

is a problem if we stay at 2 months.

We enjoy that new and improved format only once a year.

With Orion, we continue on with the “not so favorable” format / 2 months at a time x 6 a year.

We’re at a crossroad my friend.

You have a history of innovative thinking.

Don’t drop the ball now!

I do appreciate your input, Joe, and all idea’s will be fielded with the organizers.

I want to welcome @southwestmba to the team of organizers for Orion’s Belt Team League, he is an excellent addition to the group. His work with me and Norris in our other leagues has been stellar. welcome Andy!
