TOC was a fantastic game, thank you all for making this league great!
Some organizer on organizer action if you know what I mean. @southwestmba you played like the champ you are!
Boodie, Asur, Luke and all the champions excellent play tonight.
Now lets get this Q4 2024 party started!
Welcome to the official start of the 4th quarter 2024 Nordic Warriors campaign. A Friday night Valhallaâs Chosen warriors 35 strong came to light the night ablaze. It took no time to get into form as hands we raised and bluffs called and boats sunk. When the dust cleared @Floppasaurus stood triumphant his constant pressure and aggressive raised wiped out the competition. @slader43 fought hard for second rallying, @leswg stealthily maneuvered across the felt make chips disapper from stacks and appear in his, @Sue13 fought like a Valkyrie vanquishing many and then politely sending them into the night, and @bananaboy47 really impressed at his inaugural Nordic Warriors game. The season is off to a flying start well done.!!!
I think that having a best out of 3 winner takes all NW TOC is best. Like I said, 1 game can NOT prove anything if luck plays a big role, and deserving players get bad beat out. Having a best of 3 would probably limit variance, and bad luck and bad beat outs, and probably the best player would probably overcome variance, bad luck, bad beat outs, and win at least 1 out of the 3. If 3 different players win each of the 3 best of WTA TOC, then either have a heads up, with a drawing, etc, to determine who gets the bye, who has to do first 1st round heads up match, and then 2nd heads up match, or be happy, content, with 3 different TOC champs, etc.
Not gonna happen. Too cumbersome. Variance is variance. It is what it is.
Also, 2 out of 3 hardly does anything to overcome variance. Youâd need to play at least Best of 11 or something, and even then itâs kind of a crapshoot.
After a lot of great input, and much like the RPOS TOC is a NL Holdem game, even though the games leading to it are mixed, I am thinking we stick with that, what do you think of deep stacking the TOC WTA this quarter?
Nordic Warrior League Members!
Two games tonight!
First No Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Thorâs Hammer
Saturday 20k entry! NL Omaha Hi/Lo
Game Tonight at 6:30pm EST.
Here is a link to tonightâs first game! https://www.casino.org/replaypoker/tournaments/6966822
Do not like the idea of deep stacking. The early stages of the game are pretty slow as is due to the fact there are a number of ghosts for the first 3 levels. Deep stacking would make that more painful. Plus if I play 3 hours, finish second and donât get any chips that would not leave a pleasant taste in my mouth. 2 hours is acceptable lol.
Our second Saturday game tonight is called
âOdinâs Armyâ 20k entry!
No Limit Holdem at 9pm EST.
Here is a shortcut link to tonightâs game. Odinâs Army
Thor literally dropped his hammer and our first Omaha game was launched. Right from the start the warriors knew it would be a fight for the ages. Tables of death, stacks disappearing left and right even AA2x couldnât save some warriors. The final table was a thing of beauty @Younguru started his defense in style betting and sometimes bluffing (or did he?) as he took home the crown. as vegas laid 20-1 odd on Brad for some odd reason and nearly made a few players a fortune but he finished one spot shy in 2nd, @mrzick rolled with the thunder and grounded the lightening and fought to 3rd, and @Lelaina went head to head with everyone who dared face her for 4th. Great game and what a start to the season.
Great game tonight, some schmuck got lucky again, But Messin put an incredible fight ad came in 2nd, Uwe played like the solid player he is, tuff tuff poker! and took 3rd, Alan played a great game and took a solid 4th and rounding out the in the money kids was MrZ, he is at more final tables than Carters got liver pills. Great game everyone! Here is the top 10 players from tonight 35 player field.
Southwestmba, how about a semi deep, deeper stack NW TOC that not winner takes all prize pool, that is winner is the champion of champions. That would lessen variance, bad beat outs of deserving, best players, and while the tournament would be about 2:15 to 2:30 to 2:45 min long, and longer, would still get a portion of the prize pool for playing if finished top 3 to top 5 to to 7 to top 9
Seeing as at one point I had 565 chips; I was very fortunate to even make points. Donât give up because in Hi/Lo you have 2 ways to win and multiple ways to lose.
Thanks Sue, wish we could have had that good luck. But a ultimate arrogant troll butlucker donk, luckbox, that ranked 600k, that plays 2.5k buy in tournaments, that luckboxed his way into RPOS TOC, despite finishing about #130 on 1 leaderboard, and very bottomost last place on the hi roller leaderboard, that irritated, annoyed, all RPOS 12 long. and that was annoying, irritating everybody in the RPOS TOC, including those watching, ultimate butlucked won the RPOS TOC. Universe not right at the moment.
