I will do my best to be first loser, Ricky Bobby
Warriors!
30 of the best showed up tonight for a fantastic battle!.
Congratulations MrZ on the win! Z showed us once again solid play!
Brad took 2nd with his usual moves (cat related).
Newcomer Justin after winning his first try at the mosh pit came in a solid 3rd, nice!
Norris looking to set a record or two (he still has time), came in a very well-played 4th!
Another new player Mike, showed us he has the skills to tangle with the Warriors and placed a very respectful 5th and in the chips.
I would like to thank all the Warriors that came to play tonightās Omaha Hi/Lo game, this league just keeps getting better and better.

Just call me slowā¦
I didnāt notice we were playing for points.
I donāt care about chips anymore but maybe I think about the points.
Halfway through the hi-lo game i almost quit⦠donāt like the game⦠way too slow.
Now Iām glad I did.
But the points probably doesnāt matter in my case cause I would have to start at the beginning off the cycle.
Am I right???
Justin
Correct!
Your timing entering this league is actually beneficial to you, allowing time to get acquainted
to the league before day one of the next quarter.
The same happened to me trying to figure things out towards the end of the fourth quarter.
So, I was ready for the start of the first quarter knowing the importance of getting a jump
on the competition.
Not surprisingly, those first few games mean a lot to set the tone.
Thatās the winning mindset to have and I can tell you itās best to have it throughout the quarter.
A lull, distraction, or absence will usually cost you in this league!
I would think you are one of the favorites to win it all depending on your commitment.
With the new additions to the league, the competition will be top notch.
So, whoever wins the championship, it will be well deserved!
Good luck!
the commitment is easyā¦
I donāt have anything else to do except working on my writing.
Thank you for saying I am one or the favorites, very generous of you seeing the level of
experience some have at this site
I donāt play pokerā¦
I think pokerā¦
Someone once asked me how many strategies are their in pokerā¦
My response was⦠How many hands are there.
I have never studied poker, or read a poker book.
Any skills I have are from experience and gut instinct.
My goal here is to help make this site and the other players better.
I like to constantly chat poker strategy, and I plan to inspire that amongst us all.
Im not a know-it-all⦠but I know alot about pokerā¦lol
Justin
Well, showing up is half the battle which now confirmed, you are able to do that consistently.
That alone gives you an edge, especially headed into the holiday season.
It seems the Las Vegas odds are correcting as we speak. (JK)
It will boil down to the player that wants it the most.
With your addition, the player list is phenomenal in this league.
The bar continues to be raised, breaking records every quarter.
Thatās what it will take to be the next Nordic Warrior Champion!
Such a daunting realization!!
lolā¦
Sounds like youāre writing a play
This league was designed for competition, the leaderboard has and will always be the goal here.
Most of our players get the bulk of their chips elsewhere, here we play for a three-month brutal test of your poker skills.
At the end of the quarter, we will have three champions, Holdem, Omaha hi/Lo, and a combined champion.
So far of the incredible and consistent champions that have graced our league, last quarter one player was able to win in all three categories, @southwestmba showed us a skillset to be admired.
This quarter we will have new champions, and new records set.
Our past champions were tested and proved they have what it takes.
kudos to these warriors
As I ponderā¦
greetingsā¦
I know Iāve been added to the list of players for this league, thank you
When am I officially considered a member (qualifications)
If I see a good player in the jungle, can i refer this league to him/her? (no hot heads)
āHello, my name is writerjpeel, and Iām a reformed hot head.ā lol
Justin
(Sounds like youāre writing a play)
I expect that interpretation from a writer.
Itās a good thing youāre not a city sewer worker. lol
Have fun in the league.
Thatās what itās all about⦠and winning!
Iād probably get a shovel over the headā¦
Or learn to shut upā¦
Hmmmm.
The elephant in my roomā¦
Have you read my profile???
I posted a song I wrote to Debussyās piano piece, Claire de Lune
You probably have heard the music before, maybe a movie.
I have put word and story to 22 pieces of classical music that most have heardā¦
Let me know what you thinkā¦
Justin
Might take some time, but Iāll let you know what I think.
I just glanced at your profile.
Didnāt notice the 22 pieces of classical music.
What do you consider your best work?
Iāll start there.
We should really keep this Nordic Warrior thread on topic.
Weāll chat during the league.
See you around!
This league has always been open to whom ever want to give it a try. You are qualified if you come back and play another game. We have been fortunate to gather a group of players Iād enjoy playing against in a Friday night home game. Some really good players and some really good people who want to win and have fun. We have a few poker philosophers, fisherman, and even a few poker poets. And I think the leaderboard Norris (@_snowman) created, is a data junkies dream. Your top 9 Holdāem scores and your top 9 Omaha score write the story on three different leaderboard and the folks with the best average score are also recognized. Coolest trophy on Replay is one of @_Rain 's custom AI PFP/Medals.
When I started this league, youāre required to have 10 interested players to form a league.
August 31, 2023, was our first game, 10 players came to play, from that day forward this league has been built by the players for the players, sure I have spammed the lobby to let players know we are here, that has brought some great players, some have either never been to the forum or didnāt even know about private leagues.
It takes a lot to build a league, lucky for me I received help from the players themselves, spreading the word about our league, players like @Sue13, @donkbusta444, @RavenL and others spread the word using their networking skills, bringing in some excellent players.
I also thank those that contribute to our forum page for generating enthusiasm for the league.
When I became overwhelmed with work, all the leagues I am an organizer in and my home life, I ask @southwestmba to join me in running this league, he is skilled in communications on many levels, he is always positive, modest and polite, you may notice he has some poker skills as well.
The perfect addition to this great league, I donāt say it all that much but thank you Andy for everything you do here at NW.
Justin that was the long answer to your question, but yes spread the word when you run into a player that looks like a good fit and wants to be challenged by some of the best players this site has to offer.
Warriors welcomes @TerryW joining the league, I have played with Terry in some MTTs and looking forward to seeing him take on the warriors! please welcome him when he is at your Holdem table.

Just got paid, its Friday night, party hopping, feeling rightā¦oh what do we have here? 30 warriors, frolicking and strategizing and having a grand old time. Texas holdāem Nordic Warrior style Valhallaās Chose came to play. Some big gun went down in flames early but in the end well it was the usual suspects. That good looking grampa showed everyone age and treachery can conquor all as @_Rain swoped in for the win. @writerjpeel continued to have fun chat and play great poker in 2nd, The terminator @jujube was her aggressive self for 3rd, while Michelle @Trafe1 showed she can still fly high like the Flying Aces soaring for 4th, and @Weedwoman420 was blazing her way to 5th. Quite a night
reminds me to thank @donkbusta444 for inviting me to join this league some months ago! best decision I made this year⦠other than taking Pop Tarts out of the breakfast rotation
Correction on last nightās write up. 4th place went to Donna @Trafe1 not my other Flying Aces teammate and Nordic Warrior Michelle. Sorry about that
