I think it would still come to almost the same thing, because you would have to adjust for the level of the game. You could not score the same amount of points for playing 5/10 as for playing 50K/100K, because at the higher level you are playing presumably better players, because they have consistently won and accumulated stacks of tens of millions or hundreds of millions of chips.
I suppose you can boost your ranking by buying chips, but you would have to buy an awful lot of chips to get into even the top 500. Probably thousands of dollars of chips.
bluffaloKingā¦ Rank donāt mean everythingā¦ as some players just buy chipsā¦ My rank is not very highā¦ but I have been invited into 5 league games nowā¦ and started my own League w/ help from my 4 co-captainsā¦ stats mean more to meā¦ I fold /donāt play about 80% of all handsā¦ and win over 12%. of hands playedā¦ but if you are looking for a good completive game friend me and ill add you to the forever Phil League.
Good for you! No, rank is not everything, but at the current offering price you can buy 7 million chips for $99. So 50 million chips would cost you about $700. Of course people can do what they want with their money, but I would imagine that there are very few players with more than 100 million chips who bought chips, and most people wouldnāt think it was worth paying thousands of dollars to rank highly on a free poker site.
(I would be happy to sell people chips at rate of 10 million for $50, but of course you canāt do that and I understand why. Actually it would be rather interesting if RP allowed players to sell chips back to the site at a discounted rate.)
Anyway I very much appreciate that replay poker provides hours of free entertainment without advertising. It really is one of the best things on the internet.
For me, ranking is easy, if I leave the game with more chips than I lost I get better ranking. If I lose more chips I win, I lose some ranking. So far so good, Nearly always, I leave the session with the green upward tick in activityā¦Works for me!!!
There is another way to improve your ranking, hoping the players with a higher ranking than you lose a lot of chips where you now have more chips than they do.
Iāve improved my ranking many times without doing anything except logging in.
Yes I suppose thatās another way but itās been my experience that those players buy more to keep their ranking. I went from 78 to 98 in 2 months so those above me are buying chipās because Iām not losing Iām gaining at 1.2 Billion
If you want to improve your ranking I recommend participating in the regular leagues. Gives you more opportunity to win chips (each game plus the leaderboard(s)) and it gives you feedback on how you are playing by letting you see a direct comparison to other players. The Gemstone Leagues and Regional MTT leagues helped me improve my play and my ranking. Good luck and have fun!
