MEGA CHIP SALE!

Players allege you can buy rank!?!?!? Now you really can (unverified or tested)! ONE Billion will buy a rank of roughly top 100 give or take.

THOUGHTS?

sign of desperation and a bit ridiculous lol

At the close of the stock market on Friday for $10,000 you could have bought 58 shares of Apple stock, or 83 shares of Amazon, or 95 shares of Exxon or 68 shares of WalMart. What do you get for $10.000 from Replay? A useless ranking of around 100. Most importantly if you want to cash out your 1 billion chips what are they worth? Of course you already know the answer to that…NOTHING.

That desperation has been coming on for a few years now. I’m imagining “pay to play” coming on or lose your chips if you don’t. VIP Memberships now Mega Chip Sales.

Maybe we can pay using a Promo Code?

Btw, where do I find Promo Codes?

Um… if you bought 34 of the 30,000,000 chip package’s, you’d have 1.02B chips for a little less than $8500.00. Am I missing something here?

I’ve been thinking about that for years then I forgot to ask, what the heck is a promo code here.

Promo, Buy TWO get the third 1/2 off :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

what annoys me is RP keeps bombarding me with ads and spam and I’ve never bought any chips, so why would I suddenly start now?.. how is 1M to 3M going to help me? Finally a few months ago RP started advertising first time purchase 28M for a decent price… Its still not worth it but at least its better than the previous sales… I’d pay RP to stop the ads and spam but not for worthless FREE chips

You can shut notifications off and emails.

You have to wonder if the business model works. I cannot imagine that many people would spend more than $100 on some chips to get started. If you repeatedly buy chips it becomes a very expensive hobby, and a bit pointless if you can get free chips anyway. However if the free chips option was removed, I cannot see many people signing up.

I have looked at the statistics occasionally and the number of online players active at any one time can be only around 1-2000 out of something like 350,000 theoretically active players.

There is a relatively small pool of people who play the higher level ring games from 20K to 40K upwards, and equally so for the tournaments. The most expensive tournament is Widow’s Bite which is 5 million to enter, but you are very lucky if you get more than 30 players. Even the 1M tournaments are lucky to get more than 40 players.

What do you tend to see in ring games and in tournaments is that the same cadre of highly ranked players with hundreds of millions or billions of chips are sitting there like spiders in their webs and waiting to pick off the naive newcomers who have paid for chips, but who will probably soon be disillusioned if they tried to play against the best players on RP without having worked their way up the ladder.

Perhaps there should be a monster tournament every month that is cheap enough for anybody to enter, but has a first prize of a billion chips.

For the cost of a WSOP Main Event buy in you can get 1 billion play money chips. Any takers?

I will do it if you PayPal me the cash.

But who knows? Maybe there are 1 or 2 people who love playing poker and will do this for vanity, or just because they would like to donate to support the site.

I’ve thought of a similar tourney concept except hold it just once a year with a Winner Takes All prize. RP wouldn’t have to add any guaranteed prize amount when the buy-in is 1 - 5 million chips.

This type of tourney would make most players rethink playing Bingo and save their chips for this annual event.

I think RP would only have to consider if the System can handle the number of players, recalling the system problems with Bust the Staff participant numbers because I agree with you there are about 350k registered here.

So if we end up having to “pay to play” I think I will just start visiting one of the local poker/card rooms. If I have to pay, I might as well get the chance to actually win something, some live conversation, something to eat and an occasional drink!

Andre

If you ask and because I’m in such a good mood right now:

Is this a sign for me that the operator has financial problems?
“We don’t want to hope that”
Let’s be honest, the whole pay concept here (chips and premium memberships) is a bit outdated and not really appealing, it might even seem a bit desperate in some places and maybe it should be reconsidered?
I come from sales and know what I’m talking about.

For that money, and let’s be honest, I’d better register for a real WSOP poker event.

Have a nice day
Andre
