HTML5 Table Feedback

Hey Everyone,

First and foremost, I’d like to thank you all again for taking the time to share your feedback on the new Replay Poker HTML 5 tables. This is invaluable to us. I’ll never repeat it enough, and even if it does not always show (yet), your feedback drive all our next steps and decisions. It also motivates everyone at Replay as our ultimate goal is to offer you the best free poker experience, the one you deserve. :raised_hands:

We are conscious that many of you are unhappy and frustrated with the new client, its current design and the overall experience offered at the tables. It’s not yet on par with the experience you are used to on the old Flash client. We also appreciate that you may have expected a better first HTML5 version, one that would be a real upgrade to the Flash one.

Three weeks ago, I shared an update on what we were focusing our efforts on. Since then, a lot have happened, in and outside of Replay, hence why I’m back with a new update for you.

With the global pandemic and the lockdowns, we have experienced an unprecedented growth in daily signups and activity on Replay Poker. To be more precise, we have 3 to 5 times more daily signups and twice the traffic of players we used to have before March 15th. We had to adapt promptly to this new context. As we are a small team with limited resources, this did affect our priorities and ongoing projects, both on the operational and technical side.

On another hand and this is not completely unrelated to this traffic increase, we also have experienced some stability issues on our HTML 5 tables. It only happened a couple of times but that required our immediate attention. A long term solution is still being worked on by the Tech team, however a patch with a short term fix has been deployed before the Easter weekend.

Now, in regards to the HTML 5 client enhancements and priorities, this is where we’re at:

  1. Our very top priority remains fixing the performance and sit-out issues, which have been highlighted by many of you. These remain the two most critical issues and our utmost priorities. If I can’t give an exact timeline on when we can expect these to be resolved for good, I can ensure you the Tech team is working very hard to get that right. We will get to the bottom of it.

  2. We are almost done with the development of the MTT feature. We completed successfully the rebalancing logic, the bounty logic and the no show removal process. We are still yet to develop rebuy tournaments. We plan to get some HTML 5 MTTs on Replay Poker any time soon to test some of the features (i.e. bankroll builder and/or freerolls). However, we do not plan to deploy the rest of the MTT schedule before we have sorted the performance and sit-out issues.

  3. Simultaneously, we have been working on a new table layout, following the feedback we have received. We are aiming at separating table and background with a clearer table boarder. It’s not simple as any new design asset would also have an impact on the table load time and the overall fluidity of the game. Below is an example of what we are working on. Please bear in mind this is not final and still at the experimentation stage. We would love to hear your thoughts on this design layout though. We also have as a plan to start working on a higher resolution layout that will be more catered for players playing one single table at a time (85% of Replay Poker players).

  4. We brought the tournament stats back at the table. These do not refresh as frequently as we would like so we will be enhancing the update process. These stats are already available on the rolled out HTML 5 sit’n’gos.

  5. We are also working on a different interface for web mobile. This is also still work in progress and any feedback will be looked into with much attention. Below is a screenshot of what is currently being worked on.

  6. We still have quite a list of feedback that we are yet to address and prioritize. Many of them are included this thread, some others have been received through support tickets or direct feedback from the table. These are not lost. They are with us and we will be making changes to the design when the higher priority issues are resolved.

Again, thank you all for your patience and for the massive help that represent all the feedback that you are sharing with us. :raised_hands:

I’d also wish you all the very best in these troubling times. Please stay home and safe. On our end, we will do our best to give you a good reason to stay home, and always have an other hand to play!
