How strong is a hand of two following cards of mid strength (like 78) suited? Is it a possible all-in call pre-flop were a high stack of chips is involved?
Just ask because i got another one up my xxxx and kicked out of tournament. I had AK and was going against AQ and 78suited. Extremely frustrating.
Much stronger than you’d expect in this situation. Your AKo has about 41% equity, and their 78s has about 38% (due to AQo blocking one of your outs).
You shouldn’t generally be calling all-ins with suited connectors, but there are spots where they are better calls than hands like AQo, or even most pocket pairs.
@lihiue ok thank u for ur input. I was just wondering because even, if he calculates that we might have one blocked card that he will still most probably is up agains two other high cards. Here these were the K and Q. Or maybe against a pocket pair.
Anyway on the turn even the ace showed up and on the river also my king but also his 5th colour.
It was one key moment in the tournament and made him chip leader in tournament with over 110 player (of course lots were already out).
Yeah i dont know…i mean his cards are maybe good ones but such a call pre-flop? well lucky him.
