Forever Phil New League

FranklyI managed to outlast Zacor and mimi65 today, so Congratulations to him.
Sad day for many with the passing of boyd2 who, although not a member here, was a friend and mentor to many throughout the Replay community. R.I.P. Jack

Actually there is no add on amount for tomorrow’s game, the above promo was for last month. My bad for not revising them earlier.

Congratulations to the Fighters who dug deep today and shovelled out a victory, while kudos to certain Mystics who made this a difficult task. Just sayin…

First off, there are a couple of things that need to be stated… 1) it was first time for Lightning Pairs to have four full tables … 2) it was the first time that the Mentors had eight Players playing on Friday … 3) It is also, to the best of my recollection, the first time that the Mentors have had the lead at any point of any month.

Congratulations to everyone who played tonight… but more so to the Mentors who did the deed with gusto, to end up on top tonight, and they are now ‘King(s) of the Hill’ in this month so far.

.

Because we filled all 4 tables for the first time, it has prompted what follows, so we can all have a basic and better understanding of Lightning Pairs’ point structure and it’s parameters.

This applies to 32 Players at 4 tables.

The total amount of points up for grabs is 144.
The most points that one Team can earn is 60, which would mean finishing 1st and 2nd in all 4 games. Which is nearly 42%
The least amount of points that one Team can earn is 12, which would mean finishing 7th and 8th in all 4 games. Which is just over 8%.
The break even point for each Team is 36 points. which is 1/4 [25%] of 144. A Team that earns 37 points will be ahead of one Team for sure.

I have not yet scrolled through the archives to find the benchmarks that have been set by each Team. So, for now and because it is still fresh, I will offer a different view of what the Mentors did last night.

They won 77% of the points out of the 60 that were available to them, and all Teams, which also translates into 32% of the 144 points. Not too shabby.

Good luck to the Mentors in their trying to keep the lead. And good luck to the 3 other Teams who will be trying to prevent this.

On December 10th our good friend boyd2 (Jack Vandament) passed away.

Jack was a member of the Donks Leagues, The Team Play Poker Leagues, The Barnyard Muckers and of course the Dream Weaver League.

I would like to invite Jacks friends to compete in the TPP Jack Vandament Memorial tournament.

Jack’s favourite games in recent years were Team Poker and Omaha, so the tournament being held in his honor will be Team Omaha.

When - Sunday December 29th at 5pm US ET (10pm UK)

Where - the Team Play Poker League

What - Team Play Poker (team play rules) against the 7 regular team Play Poker Teams, plus any other teams who wish to form and have a go, plus any individual gate crashers.

If you are not a member of the TPP League please let me (Lyle aka flashlight) know if you would like to join in. If you wish to enter a team let me know the team members and the team name. All team members will be expected to wear the team logo.

Congratulations to MONKEYzBUzINEz who are the Season 5 Champions of Dynamic Duos.
Congratulations are also due to Ad Infinitum and Bananas who both won their respective games.

Well done to those Duo Teams who managed to improve their standing over how they finished in the regular Season. I believe that we all can use a nice break now… to better enjoy everything that happens around this time of the year. Season 6 of Dynamic Duos will begin on Sunday January 12th and we are looking to have up to 11 Duo Teams this time. It has been a slice, a sincere thank you to every Player who helped make Season 5 a success. Cheers…

Congratulations to HeyHandsOff, Doon101 and Fitski who all finished on the podium today. Thank you to all who played today.

Congratulations to today’s podium finishers. Shoeman, Julie63 and Nolakay. Today’s combatants were right to be afraid of Julie63 but Shoe pushed through the fear barrier.
Thank you all for your attendance.

Congratulations to the Mentors who managed to get the most points today, the scores were relatively close so I will assume that there were some epic battles here and there. A thank you goes to everyone who played.

A very solid win by Munchers today. Congratulations and Well done to them. And congratulations to all for the very good turnout today as well. I see a couple of hard fought finishes also. Thanking you all for you attendance.

As promised a little while ago, here are the ‘top of the heap’ numbers for all Teams in Lightning Pairs.

Most points in a game …
Munchers : 52 … Mentors : 48 … Fighters : 41 … Mystics : 38

Most points in a month …
Fighters : 262 … Mystics : 251 … Mentors : 212 … Munchers : 156

Please note that the results in May and June were not looked at, because we had three Teams then.

IT IS TIME TO PUT YOUR TEAM TOGETHER FOR JENNY & PHIL’S DYNAMIC DUOS.
The Season is due to start on Sunday 12th January at 12.00 NOON ET.
The games are Pairs (2 vs 2) with Play-offs at the end of the Season.
Team registrations close Monday 6th January, and teams are restricted to 3 players.
If interested please contact Doon101 (Bill) or FranklyI (Dan).

Well here we go… Congratulations to RobRoy, Ann and some other guy who all finished on the podium today. It was a tooth and nail battle all the way. My wounds are still being tending to. Just sayin… (upsidedownface) The Organizers at Forever Phil thank each and every one of the nine who played today. Cheers…

Okay, here we go… Congratulations to the Mystics who followed through on earlier words and won today. A special mention for SuzyQQ who played and fought like a Wolverine protecting it’s frozen carcass in the Arctic somewhere. As can been seen there is a tie on top for the month so far. Tomorrow is Judgment Day, which is very fitting and dramatic, where it will all come out in the wash. We were expecting a low turnout out today. To all who played, thank you.

Congratulations to the Munchers on their win today. A very tight finish but they got across the line by 1. Well Done to them. Thank you all for your attendance at this time of the year. We hope you all had a great Christmas. And now for New Year.

And so ends another month. And the Champion Team for December 2024 is MONK’S FIGHTERS.
Congratulations and Well Done, Fighters.
