Starting April 14th at 11h00 a.m. we will start the DUO tournament but in order to be successful we need teams to play and we are aiming at 10 teams to play - do not be shy come and have fun and join us in playing this DUO Tournament. I hope that your day is going well for you so far.
Recently, the organizers at Forever Phil League were kind enough to grant me use of their 7pm [Eastern] time slot on Fridays, for a refined version of Team play. It is called “Monk’s Lightning Pairs”. This new Team Play effort will begin at 7pm on Friday May 3rd. The buy in amounts will be 5K.
There will be 4 Teams of up to 12 Players on each Team and an allowance for 3 alternates as well. Play will take place at 8 seat tables that are separate and individual games which will all start at 7pm, the number of games has been set at 6, each game will have a 5 minute late registration period. There can only be 2 Players from each Team at each table, which ultimately means balanced tables.
I have structured the blinds such that, every game will [should] finish in less than one hour. The top 5 at each table will earn chips… this is contingent on a special request submitted by chasetheriver [Rob] otherwise the payouts will be to the top three only. All Players are guaranteed 1 point if they play. The outcome of the Beta Games will determine what the final Blind Structure will be.

The three Captains we have so far are; Ravenl, JenGen7 and tbradley. Presently there are 24 active Players signed up. There are also 2 alternate Players and an additional 4 Players in limbo. We… that are here now, would like you to consider joining.

There will be three 8 seat “beta” [test] games on Friday April 26th, for up to 24 members of Lightening Pairs who are ready to rumble. It is called… Billy’s Brutal Beta Bash, no Team Play; just the regular good old cut throat stuff that we all definitely know and which some might actually love. The buy in amount is 25K, this will be refunded by Replay sometime after each game is complete. You keep what you win. All three games will have a different blind structure and one game will have a different amount of starting chips. The purpose of these games, in which I won’t be playing, is to figure out if the blinds need to be modified in order to ensure that virtually every future game will be done and over, within less than sixty minutes.

A BIG congrats to AuSainter, RavenL and Alex1963 for an awesome finish to a great game. Was a brutal bash in the head to head chips and battle axes flying back and forth as our top three then two battled hard for the win. Freaking Awesome!!

Congratulations to our podium finishers today, RavenL, Julie1963 and Grizy-. Well Done. There was no floorshow because one of the performers didn’t turn up and it looks like the other didn’t have his heart in it. But there will be no refund of the buy-in. The fact Frank was there should be enough entertainment. Thanking you all for your attendance.
