When the money isn’t real, chasing is like getting drunk - almost everyone does it more than they should.

ELVOID, u be surprised, in cash games i see a FEW card chasing people but i just say " bad beat, bad luck" as we do not want the fish to swim away lol:).

Also, in cash games the more people drink the more they chase and go on tilt, i NEVER in my life had a drink in cash games but i LOVE drinking all other times:).

Too many people forget the times they hit the straight or flush chasing - no moaning then

The few times lucks not with them brings out all the possible scenarios for it being anything but their fault ie not being aggressive on the flop and allowing the chase

Drinking rum is the key to success as you dont remember the loss but celebrate the win

Except I’ve been aggressive on flop and turn and they still chase and hit, but when I chase I don’t hit. Yet when I fold I would’ve hit. Kinda funny that way.

I have been on the site for about 3 years I think, and I have never spent a dime on chips and I have gone from 2000 chips to about half a billion chips almost entirely by playing in multi table tournaments.

So I don’t think the game is fixed, unless it is fixed in my favor.

But some people are obviously better at calculating odds on the fly quickly than others.

I know it is very frustrating when you hit top pair on the flop with Ace King and someone else calls a bet with the wrong odds and takes all your chips with a fortunate flush or straight on the river, but really you need to take into account the stack sizes, big blind size, and other factors before deciding how much to bet on the flop. If you frequently make bets on the flop and turn that make you pot committed on the river, is this the best strategy for winning multi-table tournaments on RP?

In my opinion, since on Replay Poker it often happens that multiple players will persistently call any flush draw or open-ended straight draw regardless of the odds they have, then giving them the wrong odds is no deterrent, but it can be very profitable picking off river bluffs when flush and straight draws that are visible on the flop still miss.

Or here is another simple and obvious example. You look at your hand it is AA. You think you are 85% to win the pot, so you put in a massive pre-flop raise, and you are called by three other people. You are still the favorite to win the pot, but you are nowhere near 85%, because there are three other hands playing against you. Very likely these hands are either suited or they are pocket pairs. Any flush or set might beat you. The bad beats always occur when two good hands come against each other and neither player will give way.

Playing with weak starting hands will also make you more vulnerable to bad beats. If you play with strong starting hands, the probability that the flop will hit you hard is the same as for weak starting hands, but when the flop does hit you hard, you are much less likely to be vulnerable to bad beats on the turn and River.

i play maybe 30 minutes- to 60 minutes a day here for a year n now have a tad over 10,000,000 chips playing 1-2 5-10 and free tournament’s BUT i watch games n if i see 2 bad players playing ill play n try n win their chips… I do have MANY tickets i won in free touraments but no tame to use them so i let wife donk them off lol…Patience, common sense and play the player will help anyone become better, even a donk like me:).

Do u really bluff a lot, just curios or is your name to fool people lol.

happens to us all, we muck our 3-8 and the flop is 3-3-8 etc. hang in there

then go play the said 3-8 and nothing. not that should be playing 3-8 begin with unless in BB and everyone limps. just saying

My bluffing frequency varies.

Thought I would put my tuppence worth in :grinning:, when I started with online poker I was laid up with a back injury at home, I joined full tilt poker for something to do rather than the start of my master plan to accumulate wealth, lol.
My knowledge of poker was non existent, until the online poker boom only the people who played poker knew of that world, then they took that world into your home. A master stroke of marketing.
In my opinion collusion of corruption in the marketing and governments worlds.
They knew full well ( my opinion) they had no reason to mess with the programme, gambling is hugely addictive and they hooked people who might never have gambled in the first place. No reason too cheat with the RNG when people will keep coming back anyway.
When I started I was less than a fish more of a plankton, but I miraculously gained a bank roll winning unlikely hands( I was never a stranger to cards or gambling just not hold-em), for years after I stopped playing, I thought It was fixed ,I understood later as I understood poker and numbers more, the fish who plays and calls with the unlikely hands and takes all your money on the river knows no better and thinks they are a poker god (and will keep coming back with more, when their money has gone), all your skill has taken a knock, it hurts, both your feelings and bankroll. But not a cheating RGN, just the way it goes, why would they risk a system that works, it would only take one instance of a poker sites RNG to be in question to bust the business.
My tuppence worth

My thought on this particular thread is one always has to mark the difference between the words rigged and random. I will preface this thought with… I make no claims to being a wonderful poker player or a great thinker. Rigged means someone has in this case built a program that targets a certain individual. Random means just that…controlled by nothing. IMHO opinion the site is in no way rigged…ie too complicated to do for any benefit earned… But is it truly random…no it is not as it operates on a program that was created to try to mimic randomness.

Hi @Paladin13 ,

Agree, & why would anyone here say the site is rigged & still be here? Amazing, LOL

I have seen many hands that appeared to have been rigged in ring games which is why I started playing loose there; and yes it is rigged with players colluding. As far as the site being rigged, I do think that base level of the cards dealt is strange and more prononced as rigged on the river. I can say without doubt that the dealing of cards in both rings and tournaments is not on par with a real casino(However, it is a free site). And you do have to search hard to find the well behaved players.

That’s the part that amazes me

random events can freak folks out, and we try to find a rationale; and often settle on the easiest one available that we can think of ?
