Last night’s game had a final table consisting of 2 Cons, 2 Pirates, 2 Outlaws, and 3 Renegades. And having 15 people on the rail cheering us on was pretty cool too. Personally I like the flexibility a 20 min late registration period allows. Getting over 60 players to the table night in and night out is a big plus and biggest upside. I don’t see it as giving any player an advantage sitting out the first few levels especially in a team format. I do understand Doon’s point and it can get annoying being bounced from table to table in the beginning but the same thing happens as the field size wanes later in the game. Since I used to play the Regional MTTs I guess I am used to that dynamic (I have seen 15 at the start and 123 after 20 minutes) Id rather have to deal with back to back BBs on level 2 at 40/20 then at level 14 at 2500/1250. I do try to join early or on time but when thing come up it is nice to have that buffer and still get to support my team and the league.

Yeah our attendance is a little off the other teams, and it would help if we fix that. I notice when a game starts at 9:30 only about 2/3rds of the field is even there yet. Long story short, I started showing up later too.

Yep, in the WSOP tournaments I’ve played, they give 3 hours to start, or pull another trigger. LOL

ULB, I am sad to hear it. There are only a few original Rens left on the team. I am one of them. I have stayed for the challenge of trying to win just ONE month. We have been outnumbered from the start, but we do have a bunch of great players. I know exactly how you feel as I felt the same. So, I started coming in late as well. I tend to go out early if I show up early. So it has helped my game showing up later. Why not give that a try! We Rens need loyal players to stick with the team through thick and thin! WE NEED YOU ULB!

I now see it is a strategy of showing up late for the game. I have always signed up ahead of time and start on time. To me, I guess it is what you believe in how the game will go for you and the time you get there. I like the smaller blinds so I can play hands that may not be stellar but the blinds don’t hurt so much and I may get lucky. I like being on time but also I am a newbie with the Pirates, so what do I know except I am definitely enjoying being on the team and playing in the league. Learning team play is fun and a whole different way of playing poker. Dang, I have given up pocket K’, A’s and fulls on the board for a team member, so it is definitely a whole new game for me, which fun and I am loven it too

Ok, I may think differently from most of ya’ll, but I show up usually on time as I am retired and can do that. No job that makes me rush to get home to register in time.

My thinking is the less teammates on the first tables helps to get a feeling for the cards and who is distracted that night. This enables you to not worry about messing your teammates play up. You can be more aggressive against your opponent, hopefully to have many chips to help teamies with.

The games usually get to 60 every game so you can figure you are going to get help before long. Keep the faith and enjoy.

My two cents worth…generally numbers win regardless of registering early or late. If a team has 18 or 19 playing, odds are with them that they will do better as a TEAM. Sharon has created a unique league in that 60 plus play and that is highly unusual for any league. Bottom line, and this is coming from experience, cards and skilll win out. Team poker is inherently 50/50 individual and team. Have Cons and Pirates historically done well, true{except when that Sharks team played…lol} because they always have numbers and are more experienced. Outlaws and Rens are closing that gap and this can only be in the best interest of the league. Man I hate saying this…Sharon is a very, very good Organiizer and she always does or doesn’t do what is always in the best interest of the league. Kidding actually Sharon…I don’t hate saying that…
