I was playing in the 5 million buy in yesterday and I noticed one of the players was ranked something like 120,000 and I do not understand how he bought in…can anyone enlighten me?
Yes, I can…
Contrary to popular belief, the ranks refresh more often than once a day, therefore they registered for the MTT, started playing… and thier Rank was updated before you check’d to see what it was…
Did you then check thier acct, to see avail “bankroll behind”, that prolly could’ve shown enuff Bankroll to be ranked 120,000th …
New players, usually, who have some talent will play to a level of doubling up a few times and then buying into the next level, and doing the same thing so that in three or hour hours they can afford the buy-in for high priced MTTs. They usually don’t last long because sooner or later variance comes through the door and their KK gets popped by a sent of twos or runner runner str8 or flush. Happens all the time.
Scratch
thanks to both of you
County,
Its also why you might see someone @ Hagia Sophia with a rank of 1,000,000+++++ cause they are floating and it refreshed while they have been @ the table… If I am curious, I just check the player’s bankroll on thier acct page.
He might have just purchased the chips before getting in and rank had not changed.
Isn’t it also possible the player purchased enough chips to partake in the high stake game?
great tip Sarah… hadn’t thougt of it. TYVM micki
