I do the same thing Sharon and I feel bad for others on the table also but I would rather let the clown know by doing this and making him/her wait then wasting my energy typing in the chat box.
Then I see the other players following the same way and then I feel better.
If the player does it again then everyone just drops in unison until bingo Barney gets the hint.

if he can ruin my game then I can ruin his
Lets steer this back to the orig topicā¦
Even tho I agree with Sharon, 3 problemsā¦ 1: it is admitting to go against CoC 2: Two wrongs donāt make a right 3: All you do is make yourself feel betterā¦
You see now, this is where many ppl complain that there are rules to begin withā¦ me included. Whatever the clock is, it is ā¦ whatever the Limit is, it isā¦ I know of many reasons to use the full clock (sometimes), but also many reasons to keep play moving along as much as possibleā¦
Just because itās legal to be an idiot doesnāt mean you should behave like an idiot.
I love that SPG, but it is legal be an idiotā¦ I saw 1 time the whole table do it to show the dumbass a lessonā¦ 1 hand took 1 entire set of blinds, it was insaneā¦ Replay is trying to make it illegal, but in the process the unintended consequences are huge if they wanted to press the issue. Which I have never seen happen, therefore I think CoC is there more for thier lawyers that what actuall practice isā¦ They canāt just stop the Donks from buyān chips then beān stupid and having to buy more chipsā¦
I feel better when Iām playing poker, not bingo. I never burn the clock, it just takes so much longer to try and figure how B7 improves my hand and what my pot odds are when G48 hits.
I personally think that when you or I taunt a person that is slowing the game intentionally, it can exasperate the entire situation. This could possible lead to a bully, and become verbal. If that happens, just inform the person, that they will be reported. I have found that sometime this will solve the problem. No always of course, but most of the time.
Wivy.
and you do know Craig, that being an *** just to be an *** is no strategy.
Sure there are many reasons to selectively waste clock, and there are almost as many times when it is counterproductiveā¦ Craig, I donāt seem to remember you in the mix in my Timers post, and if replay wants to make them longer they better keep 40% faster tablesā¦
Greetings to My Replay Family
I too sometimes get caught up in brief moments of rage & frustration. Iāve learned to bite my tongue as most of you have as well. Weāve all had it happen to us at one point or another.
Your playing, rolling along. The cards seem to be coming your way a little. You start to get all revved up, hitting on all cylinders, In the zoneā¦ Then, out of nowhereā¦ Wham ! Youāre plopped onto a table with all kinds of Volkswagon Beetles in & out. Just putt-putting around you. OMG ! Thatās when I have to remember what it feels like to unintentionally slow a table down. The rath from the others can be unmercifulā¦ On a live game, the stink eye you get is nothing short of some sort of a horrible nightmare.
I think what Sassy is trying to say does have validity with many players. Some of us, who like to think or know that it scientifically doesnāt matter, cards are cards. It doesnāt make it any less real for those people itās affecting.
Being in the business as long as I was, and having had so many conversations with players from all walks of life, fame, or money. One common denominator about this topic is;
Itās not something you choose to do or not do. Itās something all of us as players go through. Itās not avoidable, except for maybe Spock. Iāve never met a professional or semi-pro player that didnāt have their own hilarious personal stories of horror or slightly bad behavior. Like a right of passage if you will. Itās quite similar to the terrible 2ās in child rearing. Some of us go through it much worse than others. So if any player takes the position they have always been above all that, telling you how preposterous it is acting out like thatā¦ This player is either trying to bluff you about something of themselves or has quickly forgotten their own experiences, which isnāt very likely.
There is no secret, hard to find book that will help you through this emotional state of the poker mind. What does happen though, most of the successful players, come to terms with themselves and the issues. They find out that through practice, serious study as well as talking to as many players as you can about their experiences. Learning the disciplines & strategies of winning poker then applying them, even in play money games. It will slowly dissipate the negative energy thatās fed into your spiritual being at the tableā¦
Then we have all seen the guy or gal that seems to be stuckā¦ The very annoying players who are stuck in their terrible 2ās. The Brat, Phil Hellmuth is a prime example of this. Although very successful over the years, he has tormented himself and others around him with the continuing on and on out loud dialog about a hand he had lost. Sometimes for hours.
All of us are driven by a 1000 different forms of fear and insecurities. Thereās no game quite like poker for bringing them out. As you would never give up trying to fine-tune your game, make sure you never disregard your spirit or your emotional well being. keep them fine tuned and in good healthā¦
