John - as you did with me in your last message I won’t even bother tagging you, I know your presence in the Forum is so regular that I don’t need to -
For once I have to disagree with Tom, and this really is a first. I think your year-end message wasn’t softer than you’d announced, it contained some well deserved acknowledgments, but also a subtle but firm complaint - impeccably expressed as our etiquette imposes under Christmas. Nobody more than you is legitimated to frown upon a Silver tier which lacks of real engagement, since you’re part of that truly unique set of players that contributed to make it the best “university of real poker” in the free poker landscape.
I’d like to thank you for your flattering words that describe me as some kind of guide for the Silver tier. Reality is a lot more down to hearth than that, and it’s that I’m just a nerd who loves the Donk world.
Also, since you say that I will be advancing to Gold, I’d like to let you know that there’s an obvious cospiration against me, to make sure I don’t advance so I can keep following my fellow Silvers.
And because of that, I have two novels ready to be uploaded on this Forum, with my forecasts for the next Silver quarter: one in case I advance, one in case I don’t … lot’s of great players have joined, so if they show the right consistency we may be looking for yet another great quarter.

To all Donks, I would like to take the time reflect on this past year. 1st of all, we all joined this league to play good poker, however, unbeknownst to you, there was another reason and it wasn’t your plan. I want to share a circumstances in this league, they are private, no names will be mentioned, so if anyone knows who I am talking about, that means you have shared with others, but these are important to share so everyone will know how blessed they are. One person or more has had their brother be admitted to the hospital with covid, back a few months ago, and he came out and survived, another was blessed to get married, we have one who has a tumor and I pray that it will shrink, one whose mother that God is healing, one who is looking for a job in these tough times, one who lost a job and because of the age factor is forced into retirement, one who lost their brother, friendships in this league that have been rekindled, one with sight issues, 2 who have had cancer and were healed, 2 who have been granted insurance for their medical bills, one with covid as we speak, and finally one who just the other night, as their son was at work, the news came on that someone was shot and killed where there son was working at the moment, since the rule was no phones on the floor, that family went 1 hour and a half not knowing how their son was, but prayed fervently. They were very happy to find out he was OK and the father of his son, met with the family of the victim, prayed for them for comfort and strength.
So I didn’t disclose names, but these are people at our site in this league have experienced, so if you are 1 of them know that Jesus i at your right hand always, so if any of you have had experiences that were compromising give it to Jesus. Oh and by the way, I mentioned this wasn’t your plan ,it was Gods.
My point is Thank You for all your friendships, for sharing, for caring for each other, and know that the day we are celebrating tomorrow is Jesus Birthday, without him we would have no hope, Thru all the storms I just mentioned, many of them have resulted in blue skies.
All have a joyful Christmas, be safe and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

I am not going to reflect on anything.
instead, to echo @pokerrick, friends and family are among out greatest blessings. To all those in my new found donk family, especially those struggling through this challenging year, I wish you health, happiness, and the strength to overcome whatever comes your way.
as for me being a Donk being part of Jesus’ plan, well, there was a Spanish guy named Jesus who mentioned the Donks to me in an MTT a year ago, but I think he pronounced his name differently. Either way, truly glad to have found you all.

Man, I just had such a nice time in today’s Tournament of Champions. It was a short tournament with just 12 of us joining. I guess it was supposed to be the bye week date for the Hee Hawl league, since it is Christmas Even and all, but we forgot to cancel it and it was nice because I could actually make a 3pm game time for once.
Going into heads-up for all the chips, it was me and @Badonkidonk. I had the big stack and managed to get pocket Aces and pocket Tens late, and put him away, TT over 33 and none of the usual suckout nonsense that tilts me this time. I even won a hand with a flopped straight on a flush board – and doubled up with it, too.
That was our 500th game in Badonk’s leagues overall, counting all MTTs from all league tiers. I feel honored to take the win in this milestone game. As well, it was my first tournament win all quarter, and while it’s an officially unofficial game, a win is still a win, even if it’s “only” against 12 of the best players on Replay.

Question for @puggywug and obviously @Badonkidonk, for the benefit of us all …
Am I write to assume that in the absence of any communication and given that the end of quarter coincides with the Xmas holidays, the last 3 games of the quarter will NOT assign bonus points like in last quarter?

I guess we didn’t do a good job of communicating it this time. We are doing a 1.3x bonus for the final games this quarter. But we’re going to be looking at changing this in the next quarter.

@puggywug what does that mean in practical terms? Does it mean that whatever tournament points you achieve, whether you arrive 1st or last, they’ll be multiplied by 1.3 and the result will be challenged with your other Best 9 games? Thanks for letting me (us) know… Ale

For the final game in each of the regular weekly series, (Sun 7pm, Wed 3pm, Wed 9pm) the tournament points earned will be weighted by a factor of 1.3x. If the points earned in that game are among your Best 9 tournament scores earned towards that series leaderboard, they will contribute to your Best 9 Total.
