Ok all my friends and those I hope to become friends with, this is my review of the year here in Donkland. I hope I don’t disappoint or leave someone out. If so, I apologize now.
WHAT A YEAR!!! I have a lot to get to, so bear with me and enjoy…well most anyway. Awards, accomplishments were abundant. Badonk instituted a Donk of the Month to recognize those who accomplished something amazing. So, it was no coincidence that the first 3 were three gentlemen that, without their countless hours put in for this league to make it what we ALL love, @chuckcox, @puggywug and @Badonkidonk. You are three extraordinary men and I thank you so much. Next came 3 ladies that are corner pieces to this family, @MCcats{Priscilla}, @sugarblossom{Suzanne} and @LadyCon{Connie}. Priscilla is our matriarch. Period. She does so much for so many, which I’ll touch on later. Suzanne had THE BEST quarter ever in Donks. She won the Triple Crown in GOLD!! Awesome accomplishment and one which will probably never be equaled. Connie, well, the question is what DOESN’T she do for us. She started the Ambassador program for new members, she is a top-notch player, a member of the Muckers champs and one of the best team players around. Next came @_snowman{Norris}. Another man who many of us have an avatar designed by him. What you all don’t know is that he does it without complaining and does it immediately. He puts in so much thought to his work, so very impressive. And lastly, @boyd2{Jack}. What he did and is continuing to do is beyond words. 100 and counting tourneys he’s participated in. Let that sink in…the best accomplishment any Donk could achieve. More on him later. Congratulations to all of you and these people are the blueprint for you new members to strive to achieve. It can be done…you just gotta play. More on THAT later.
We had something new, the Barnyard Muckers. It was a big success because of a couple things. First and foremost was the incredible amount of work put in by Priscilla and @Dorkupine. Priscilla was an absolute joy to work with and Chris put in a huge amount of time doing our leaderboards. Second the 8 teams who, in my mind formed the most competitive league we have. And lastly, a big thank you to BlackWidow, ttier1 and Galak. They formed a team, and gave validation to this league as in my opinion they are in the conversation as 3 of the best in all of Replay.
And something old…Team Donk. This is the part of my review I am enjoying the most. TEAM POKER. Team Donk were as B said, a dynasty. We won all 4 quarters against TPP, who have an awesome team as well. And none of this could happen if it weren’t for 3 people. Priscilla, Jack and @flashlight{Lyle}. Jack and Priscilla formed a TEAM and put in so much time to get us all on the same page. That is hard to do, believe me. Team poker is the ultimate poker, and I encourage you all to give it a try. It’s not easy but when you GET IT, what an awesome feeling. and Lyle, who I have so much respect for, for being the founding father of team poker. Your vision, my friend, I’, glad to say is a definite reality. Team poker is THE BEST poker you’ll ever get the chance to play. Try it, I implore you.
Now I want to get something off my back. I’ve thought about being nice about this…but it’s hard. We have an Advisory Board that does nothing but try to come up with ideas to make this league better and better. Our one major goal is to get the participation in Silver better. Now, I know there are reasons such as the pandemic, work and global location. With that said, there are many that those don’t apply to. So, the start of the new year, I want to see the participation rate in Silver double. You can do it. You have had a great person looking over you all this quarter, Sergente21{Ale}. He’s passionate about this league and strives to get you silvers to play through encouragement and advice. He’ll be moving up to Gold so I challenge someone to step up and guide the silvers. 30-40% participation is unacceptable and we are trying to incorporate new ideas to increase participation, but ultimately it’s up to you.
Now personally, I’ve grown so much through the friendships I’ve made. That to me is so very important. Rick, who I’ve been friends with for so long, is like a brother to me. Couldn’t have happened without this league{family}. Saratogatom{Tom} makes reading the Forum so enjoyable, he truly epitomizes what being a Donk is. The best “saying” is one by Rick, “Make the most of today, because tomorrow is not guaranteed”. So, let’s make this coming year even better.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS and have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. Thank you all for making this league the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had in poker.

Of coarse John being john no mention of his win in the first all donks in tournament that saw 80 donks play a two game series. Sugar won the second one. the top ten each series saw 5 silvers and 5 gold. that says a lot about the quality of play and in my opinion the best single played games of the year. We need more of these. Jack

John, you are a VITAL cog in the Big Donk Machine. One of many for sure, but one nonetheless. Your rare combination of passion and compassion makes you special.

2020 has been a year with very few blessings.
But I consider this league and you folks among them.

John - thanks for pointing out the accomplishments of so many Donks - but I want to make sure people know you were the driving force behind getting the Barnyard Muckers League started - and are also one of the founding Team Donk members - joining the team in our fledgling state in 2019 and helping Jack and me build it and guide it along the way. You have coached other players, been endlessly patient, provided support when needed, and always stepped up to offer ideas and energy to make the League as a whole stronger. It has been a special year in many ways. Getting to know you has been one of the things I most cherish. Pris
