It’s been a long while since we’ve had much of discussion here on the Forum about the poker game known as Royal. Let’s hear some advice to those who wish to put a toe in the royal waters. My personal best advice? Fold, fold, fold like there’s no tomorrow!
I played this and last year many on the Royal Hold’em Ring Promotions, Royal Thrones . (lol).
A very nice thing this year:
Because his very good cards he was then on all hands all in. On end he lost all his chips and leaved.
Maybe it helps to learn a little bit before playing it.
Don’t dip that toe.
This is the only game on Replay which I can not come up with a viable strategy. This game doesn’t make any sense to me. So, I really hope players respond because I’ve wanted to ask this question for some time.
Thanks.
A little help:
Don’t play it because instead of strategy it seems to me anyway that it’s luck.
I understand what you’re saying. But I want to be able to play comfortably all forms of poker. I know it’s probably just me and the reason I seldom play it except in the Promotions. All of the games of poker have some % of luck.
So far, I know that one or two pairs and a set will not result in a winning hand most of the time. It seems the best starting hand is being dealt a pair hoping for a set which will become a boat or Quads. But you can wait a long time for this set up.
1 pair or a set do not happen in Royal if the hand goes to showdown. With 7 cards in play with only 5 values (AKQJT) 2 pair is the weakest hand possible. You cannot have a set as this would need 3 equal value cards and 4 unequal value cards.
e.g.1…Your hole cards are QQ
Flop. QTJ . You now have a set of Qs
Turn. K . You still have 3Qs
River. Any A on the river will fill a straight. Any KJT will fill a full house and a Q will fill quads.
e.g.2… Hole cards QT
Flop. KQQ. You have a set
Turn. A
River. Any J is a straight. Any AKT is a boat and any Q is quads.
Most times wins the best Full House, sometimes a Quad or Royal Flush too. If a Straight is on table then no one can have it better.
It’s rare but could be a straight on table. 3 cards same suit and player can have the other 2 cards that suited with the 3 on board giving a royal flush. Have be careful with that
I think you’re on to something with that idea of “learn a little bit before playing it.” lol
Great graphic!
…which is why my strategy (fold, fold, fold) is no doubt the best.
Yes indeed Jan
I just love playing royal… best game ever!
Perhaps, you would like to join the Wildhorses League where all the games are played over two weeks. Holdem, Omaha, Royal, 7 card Stud, 7 cart Stud Hi/Lo and Omaha Hi/Lo.
If interested in joining, send a friend request to _snowman or Goatsoup
Thanks, I’m aware of the League but the starting times are inconvenient for me. Sounds like a great idea. Still I’m trying to understand the best way to play Royal.
Nooooooo
