100k CONTEST POLL: Which type of poker player are you?

Hey all! I’m re-running a poll we had three years ago because it led to some interesting answers. I’m curious to see whether anything has changed with our current player base!

There are four basic types of poker players. While many players adapt their style based on how others are playing at the table, there’s likely one that you tend to default to – something that feels most comfortable. Which are you?

  • loose-passive
  • loose-aggressive
  • tight-passive
  • tight-aggressive

tight passive. people call any 2 cards no matter what you bet/raise. rather be safe than sorry

The cards dictate for the most part how I play. I have been struggling for so long just to get a pair.

Doesn’t matter what the hole cards are, even a high pair, I’ll place a careful bet until I’ve seen what the flop brings, a pair of kings only needs 1 ace on the table to be beat those kings by a second ace on the flop, turn or the river, … been there seen the movie and read the book

I probably am tight-passive in the begining of a tourney, but change style rapidly after learning oponents strenth & weakness.

The table usually decides my style of play, countering what my opponents are doing. Although you’re just setting yourself up too much passive play, it can be effective against obviously aggressive players.

I’m tight but will raise heavy, if have a good hand. Some people get upset, but id rather win blinds then lose to 72 os.

I hate labels. Hold’em I play one style, Omaha another, stud a third, and Royal I just wing it. Plus you have to adjust your style depending on the stage of the tournament, number of players at your table, and stack sizes. Nothing is more fun than showing tight passive for a while and then going hyper aggressive for a bit and watch people heads spin

It really depends on how the session is going. I’d say tight passive overall but if I’m hitting on all my draws I’ll definitely play more loose passive.

Though I have been playing poker for a little while, I still play in a cautious manner. I prefer not to give clues to my hand strength hoping for a bigger payout. With that I must also accept facing unkind turns & rivers and the occasional bad beat.

Tight passive . i don’t call every preflop and i’m not afraid to fold a big pair depending on what the board is showing but i also go with my GUT sometimes lol

I am a solid aggressive player… BUT… i keep an image by check folding flops on middle positions and cut off…by opening my middle position or cut off with a raise and limping in if others have limped in in these positions, this way players cant put me on a hand. I do this with trash hands 20 percent of the time. But quite frankly, i always play a cut off position and one middle position hands one time around when everyone has had a chance to be on the button…
May ur pots be big and ur hands be monsters!

Loose-Passive! This is the way!

Tight agressive I’m overly careful most of the time. But if the cards are good I can be very aggressive.

While I am constantly adjusting my game depending on the table and my stack, the overwhelming factor re playing aggressive or passive is how much my wife has nagged me prior to playing

At least u got a pair at some point. iam jealous :frowning:
I donate chips.

On average probably Tight Aggresive. Love to play / bet but dont like too much risk

Depending on my hole cards, I either stay in the hand or fold.

I chose tight aggressive because I do no play all hands, but if I get hand I alllin often epecially if blinds high thus often buying or winning big pots.
