100k CONTEST POLL - Have you played live poker?

Played often through the years and continue to do so in Las Vegas whenever I’m there, it’s fun and keeps you on your toes.

I played some live poker at the local casino, before Covid hit. Since then, I prefer playng poker online on Replay Poker from the comfort of my home

Live poker involves a lot more talk, and bluffs but also more tells

I was a casino poker dealer and retired in 2013. Then for six months I paid to play in cash games and tournaments too, At that point I realized the best way to play was on “OPM”. That’s “Other Players Money”. From that point on I used my winnings to play two to three times per week for the next six years and didn’t use even one penny of my own money. In March of 2020 casinos shut down because of Covid virus. The next 3 months I tried several online poker sights. Then in June of 2020 I discovered Replay Poker sight and fell in love with it. This is my 60th month and have almost 64 million chips in my account. There’s nothing wrong with players that buy chips for entertainment but I haven’t had to. I’ve only played at casinos ten times in last five years and walked out with more money than I came in with every time. Replay Poker Sight is a superior sight and I thank you everyday and love so many of the players too. Thank you so much for what you provide.

We used to drive up to Vegas from Phoenix every other month or so back in the Seventies. It was a different road, a different town and different times. I’d play poker at the Mint while my buddies would scamper off to…well, whatever twentysomething guys do when they’re off on the loose.

What I remember about the poker in Vegas was that is wasn’t nearly as much fun as Friday night games at home in the Nineties. They took dollar-ante stud far too seriously. At the house we’d smoke cigars and cigarettes and one-hit pipes, tell jokes that would make my wife blush, and try not to bother the neighbors.

The cops only came once. We mildly freaked about real money on the table. The cops waved it off and asked that we keep the noise down.

Now in my golden years–and back home in the Midwest–my casinos are in glamour spots like Cincinnati and Evansville and French Lick. They play poker there, but I find the craps tables offer a faster pace and a bit more fun.

Bottom line: when I feel like gambling, give me the racetrack.

I would like to play live poker but most casinos within reach of me do not offer poker tables, at least not until nighttime when I play Replay. One does but it is a pain to travel there to get into and their website has no info on limits or times or anything..

Live poker is so much different than online. WHen you are playing with real money and not “chips” with people face to face with you, it gets real. I struggle with bad habits picked up online though. It is so easy to make outlandish calls and bets when it is anonymous and just “chips”.

When you are thinking about raising bottom pair into a flop with 3 over cards using real money, it is a whole different ball game.

I like live better then online. You get to see the person your playing.

I prefer Omaha H/L but it isn’t as easy to get a group of players vs hold’em.

The ease of playing online, especially in a forum like Replay Poker were play is emulating live play. Meaning the betting is not too wild. Makes it an enticing attraction. Playing live raises the tension because real value, money, is at stake. The closer Replay gets to live the better. .

I use to play some live games with cash. But the things is that not in casinos yet.

I have played live on a cruise ship…came in 2nd at the end the week’s finale game. At 80 yrs of age now, physical and financial limitations have relegated me to online only and living in California there is no online gambling anymore which is a shame.

I enjoy playing live or online. Live is fun because its social.

I love playing love poker if i worked i would play every day , the thrill of winning is so good . but sometimes you got to lose which we all hate.

I haven’t played poker live, but I would like to, to know what it feels like. Online, you don’t see your opponent, and if I did, I could get some information, like if he’s lying, for example.

I enjoy playing live poker whenever the chance arises. I like the social interaction while being at the table. My wife and I have met many interesting characters during live play. We have played live from Washington state to Arizona. Our favorite place to play to date is in Las Vegas at the Nugget.

play now and then in live games when in vegas, and laughlin, prefer online

I used to play but am getting too old to sit for all that time due to medical issues.

I want to quit till I really learn GTO :frowning: which is very hard for me.

I voted ‘No, not for me’ but in reference to real money poker. I play with my kids and brothers, which lets me know that playing for money means i would lose my shirt lol
